Speaking of shiny...

What's your process for cleaning under the hood? Mine sure needs a good clean but just hosing everything down makes me nervous. Any suggestions?

I hope you picked up that loose switch on radiator cowl ?
I've accidentally left countless items in the engine bay. I recently found a 12MM box end in one of the BMWs engine bay that I haven't popped the hood on since last fall.
View attachment 1470492 View attachment 1470493 I like the Tundra wheels I put on but never got comfortable with the shininess. No reason to get rid of perfectly good wheels, so I plastic-dipped them to see if I like them in "tungsten black."
I love them like this, and I plan to leave the center caps off too. I'm about to pull off the side trim/molding with the chrome and paint that as well.
I think once the plasti-dip (really it's rustoleum brand-same thing) wears off I will get the wheels powder coated the same color.
This picture is just the first coat. Liking it so far!
I've had my 200 a week now and just starting to clean up a few things. First up was a front grill makeover. PO had installed black mesh grill but it was piano black, a bit shiny for me.
Pulled the grill, broke some cheap plastic tabs so had to epoxy those.
Degreased and cleaned the grill for paint then rattled canned it:
Installed the TOYOTA emblem with the zip tie method (thanks for the hints guys)
Dog approved.
Holding off on installing grill on truck since I need to work on the headlights tomorrow.
I'm gonna order one of those for my 100 series! love it! thanks! The PO must have had very acidic hands. The finish on the burlwood steering wheel had disolved and was unsightly.
I covered with a xuji cover I got off amazon. Thanks to @-uhuru- for the tips. Still need to better tuck a few spoke areas, but other than the painful install, much better than before.
