Driveable but not on the freeway. I am with a friend, we loaded all gear into my 100 from his 4runner and drove to Grand Junction and back. Picked up the parts installed the throttle lever sensor. The truck seemed great. Shut it off, went to go get groceries and the problem came back. Luckily I bought both the throttle lever assembly and the tps. Apparently all I needed was the tps. 397 for both with fedex over night Saturday delivery from Albq. to Grand Junction. I will swap the tps tomorrow am. Hopefully it all works after that. It will suck to have the rig stuck in Moab if not.

Tps install went well and the rig runs good after fiddling with the adjustment some. No fsm no feeler gauge to adjust. Spent 8 hours out on Onion Creek Trail off of the 128. Awesome day, beautiful scenery amazing views. My 100 got her first real trail carnage. All good!

Surprising Find - Aus Spec LX470 Cabin Air Filter Retrofit

Well with the good help of Beno and Mike Gordon I got the retrofit kit to put cabin air filters on my Australian LX470.

First issue: the evaporator housing is "handed" (e.g. RH drive cars get the filter on the left; LD drive on the right).

So the cover I got shipped out from the US is a reflection of what I need!

So I pulled the old one and got into it with my little cuts anything tool and hand-crafted the opening in the cover. Nice. No problems (famous last words).

Then I go to fit the filters and I find that the space for the filter is half the depth of the US spec evaporator housing - duh!

Given I'm now committed to the small cover anyway, I decided to cut the filters to size... although one wonders if it may be constraining the air flow a little now - I can always take them out again easily if any issues arise.

It seems not only did Toyota for some reason think that Australia is less dusty than the US (What were they thinking!!! Kimberley bulldust can only be compared to the remotest Africa in my experience!), they also didn't even seem to make it possible to fit the full length filters!

All's well that ends well!
Andrew.

With some help from Paflytier...installed PFran's LED interior and reverse lights today! Can't wait to check them out when it's dark!

I just Ordered the same set up, hopefully the install wasn't too hard? !

My first Coil Pack failure and replacement, now armed with a spare.

Thanks to Onur and Sam at Lowe Toy as always for the great price and service.

Local prices were $112/ (full list). I saved about $35/ so even with 2 day air it was cheaper than the local jokers and I didn't spend a lunch hour running for parts, can't beat that!

This is one of the best mods in the world! I can't believe I ever went without them!

Tried to see if I could get my winch fixed. Yes I know it's been a while the 100's in the hills where it quit working, so lay off me! And it's not working. I have a feeling it was mounted incorrectly by the prior owner and the drain plug wasn't opened up. It's a warn 9.5xp. I'm going to try some more tomorrow. I don't want to have to take the bumper off! I'd rather get working enough to spool it back up instead of wrapping the line around my lights!

That little climb took 3 winches, and a battery!

Added Slee Blueberry and rear bumpers. Running boards are looking especially lame now, but with little ones I gotta wait until sliders are ready to replace them.

Pulled the running boards, received new speakers and a Pioneer X5500BHS which I will install this week.

Now I am trying to decide what will be next- Sliders, Ironman Bumper, or Tires?

I love stock LX's with no running boards. The perfect mix between luxury, and ruggedness. These trucks are very capable in stock form, sliders are very cheap compared to door panels. I'd invest in some sliders first. I wheeled for 3 years before getting sliders, one mistake and your door won't open.
