You forgot to mention it was all downhill with a large sail and 50mph tailwind. 😉
lol, it was actually on mostly a quartering headwind to crosswind over varied terrain with gradual hills ranging from just above sea level to about 800' above sea level.

Pretty sure with a tailwind and a sail I would be giving a TDI Jetta a run for the money

Nice! I’ve only gotten up to 17.5 per Fuelly. My mpg-ometer is always a little optimistic. 420 miles to a tank is awesome though. I may have to start using the odometer to see if my miles to empty ends up being far off too. It usually gives me 365ish miles to empty on a fill up.
That would be good. I usually just do the math, miles driven / gallons put in.

I was using premium 93.
I have tried 87 a lot over the years and typically get about 2 mpg less. Near 3 with the summer blend 87.

I also just recently replaced the plugs and coils so that may have helped.

Previously was lucky to get 16 mpg with the front runner roof rack and a heavier foot.

Awesome - just ordered (4) NPX65 6.5" mid-range speakers for the doors and the EVL65-D4 sub for the rear. Going to tackle this weekend hopefully.

Great! You'll need longer screws for the new sub. I would consider shaving off some of the grids on the speaker cover as well. I have a bit of rattle on songs with heavier bass. But overall a vast improvement

I've heard a VERY small ticking noise for years...this weekend it turned into a different noise, only when on the msx AC "dot". I decided to drop and check/clean my AC blower motor...ah ha! I started my truck and played with the AC levels, noise was gone. Took me 10 min. We'll see...

Change your cabin air filters as well.

I can't imagine driving on the highway on 37s!
Depends on the 37s, rock warriors with skinny 37s combine weight is 95 lbs or so. I used to run 34.5’s combo that was 100lbs. On an 05 LX and it did fine going up the I70 pass in Colorado. If you had an 06-07 that’s not carrying 2000lbs of gear and bumper you might be okay.

This week I have been bringing my 99 1hd fte back to service. PO covered everything in an inch of tetraseal and that has now mostly gone, so I could rip out the very broken AHC and I am in the process of fitting a Pedders 2 inch lift.
I've stripped and cleaned my very seized CDL and got that back to life thanks to all the invaluable posts on here.

Oh and sorted out my airbag codes and got that reset, thanks again to you lot I was able to find the code and replace the seatbelt module.

It's been parked a while as life got in the way but it won't be long until I'm posting some pictures of it on all 4 wheels and a fresh MOT.

Sills are the next and last big job and I'm sending that out to a shop.

I have a 4-speed 2002 and 37x12.5 tires on 17" wheels. 4.88 regear. No transfer case gears. It could use a little extra oomph on the steep grades, but I think it drives fine.

NOTE: Steel front and rear bumpers (both hybrid with tube), steel skids, sliders. I removed drawers and I'm not carrying any roof weight. Eliminated the 60 of the 60/40 2nd row seating.
