Gotcha I’m trying to figure out if I could use my old ones on new fenders if I can get them off carefully enough
No pictures but my 6 year old watched me do my engine oil change tonight. Showed him where all the parts and fluids go. Hopefully tomorrow I'll diag/fix the ground fault issue with my RedArc trailer brake controller and if I'm lucky get my AirLift bags installed since we have another trip with the trailer coming up in a few weeks.
Week 2 of ownership.
- Cleaned exterior, just a brush / hose / dishwash liquid job.... Have some desalting 4x4 foam and a foam cannon arriving to play with.
- PWR / 2ND not working. Pulled fascia up, button not connected. When connected, ECT/PWR light comes on but won't turn off. Button for both PWR and 2ND looks like someone spilled mud/coffee/cola/sand all over it. Will replace as cleaning not working.
- Checked tyre pressures
-Pulled driver's window switches out. Cleaned/lubed. Back windows still not working (go down but not up). Ordered new OEM switch cluster.
- Cleaned windows and applied Rainx. New aero wiper blades ordered.
- Removed 3rd row seats and tow bar ball - not needed at the moment and probs saved 120kg in excess weight.
- Sprayed pet odour neutraliser on carpets (prev owner had a leaky dog I think). Borrowing a carpet vac off a friend.
I need to book in for a service (yay, expense!). There's also a local specialist suspension placed who are offering $28 brake / suspension / steering check. I'm ambivalent about this. Feels OK to me now and a dare say the $28 inspection could lead to a costlier repair so I'm saying "ignorance is bliss" for now....
Oh..... Is there a way to tighten the rear-view mirror inside? Mines a lil' wobbly, I prefer it.... stiffer :s

What is the MASSIVE 2nd battery kit? Would like to get a bigger 2nd battery for my cruiser, the 35 group is just so small.Spring cleaning day. Engine bay washed. Clay bar the paint and a coat of wax.
Welded up my coastal rear bumper to mount my 35” spare. Hope this thing lasts…that is a lot of weight on a vertical pillar.
Replaced the seized spare tire winch with a brand new one. Ignore the hole in the frame. The previous owner hid it well.

Driving to work for the arvo shift. Drove over a level crossing. As soon as I did I hear tick tick tick. Bloody Tek Screw in the tyre.
Seemed well sealed and was tempted to leave it until tomorrow when I'm home but panicked - didn't want to finish work to a flat tyre at 10pm.
Called my insurer as I was fairly sure I had roadside assist. I did! They sent a guy out who tells me he can't fix the tyre he can only swap it with the spare. This seems odd to me as pulling and plugging would take a tyre pro what, 5 mins max?
So he's put the tyre with the screw in, in the boot. He's put my spare on. The spare is on a steel rim, and is a different tyre. So I'm still gonna have to go to a tyre shop tomorrow to fix my tyre and swap them back! Argh...... So annoying. Why send a guy who can't fix it, can only swap it?
Will be treating myself to a nice 4x4 tyre puncture/repair kit tomorrow too..... Hopefully avoid these shenanigans in future. *sigh* (owning a 4x4 is full of surprises. You dont know what you need, until you need it).

I have a hole in the same spot of my frame. I wonder what it is about that specific spot because the rest of my frame is in relatively excellent condition.
There are no pictures, but I replaced all of the bushings, brackets, and hardware on the rear sway bar and end links this weekend. Not a super noticeable difference in ride quality but my mind wants to believe it does feel marginally tighter on corners. While I had the sway bar off I wire-wheeled all of the surface rust off it and recoated it with some Rust-oleum Auto Enamel paint.
Dropped the spare tire to get a good look at everything back there and if anyone has a spare tire winch lying around after putting a swing-out on, I'd be very interested in it. Started pulling off all the spare tire brackets to wire wheel them and recoat them but that all still needs to be put back on. I'd like to follow the mod when I put it back together to tuck the spare up a little higher.
I also pulled the rear bumper off to get a good look at everything under there, wire-wheeled the bumper mount, and had to cut out some of the body panel right behind the mud flaps on the driver side from where it catches and holds water and debris, causing it to rust out. The now cut-out piece is completely hidden by the bumper so you can't tell at all, but I made sure to seal it all up with auto enamel paint to keep it from rusting further.

It is common from what I've read. The PO cut out the rot so it's a perfect rectangle opening. Ive got a buddy that will weld it for a 6 pack of Modelo.

Finished it up except for the stop for max open and maybe adding a strut to help. I'll definitely go with a larger latch next time but it's functional and happy with how it turned out
Two sets of tags? I was thinking of doing the same thing so I can cruise around without my swingouts (when I get my LX back from the shop) but the CA DMV only provides one set of tags.

I got lucky! Lost my front in a mud hole at one point and they sent me front and rear plates and registrations for only a couple bucks to replace.
