To say my alignment was out of spec would be an understatement of epic proportions! Headed to Firestone and got a lifetime 4-wheel alignment for $160!!! The tech that worked on my truck was a cruiser enthusiast. He complimented the ToughDog suspension and was very impressed with the NitroGear UCAs.....Once the alignment was done, took the rig out on a nice drive....

You need much more caster. I set my LX470 on SPC arms up with 5.0 degrees of caster making it the best handling mod to date.

Just another trip to the beach. Will be looking for some remote beach to drive on maybe later:beer:o

Did front brake pads and front/rear shocks. Went with Akebono ceramic pads and a set of slightly used Toyota shocks. I replaced some off brand shocks that were worn out. The rears were a PITA. The bottom mounts were completely frozen. Thank God my neighbor is an accomplished body man and mechanic. We ended up using a hydraulic wedge to push the lower mount off, leaving the bonded rubber bushings. We then used a cutoff wheel to split the collar and a air chisel to remove it. What should have taken an hour took two. But it’s done and the truck rides great.

We’re now ready for a road trip to Washington DC for the upcoming U2 concert and then the following week to Boy Scout camp in the mountains of Virginia.
Mine were seized too and after I finally torched them off I realized they already had a built in split. I could've found the split and wedged them open.

After you cut yours did they fall apart at the split or were they solid?

Mine were solid. Used a carpet knife and chisel to cut through the rubber then used a cutoff wheel and air chisel to split the one piece metal bushings. The old shocks were some off-brand junk well past their prime.

Got a chance to give her a fresh bath...

Making final preparations before I pull the trigger on a new lift. Hopefully will have everything ready to go for my camping trip and a few weeks.

Put on this steering wheel cover the other day. Overall I'm happy, looks 100 times better than what was left of the original cover. That being said, there wasn't enough excess material to tuck in like there should have been as you can see in the picture. There should have been enough as much as the things cost in my opinion, I had the same coverage or lack there of on both sides. It is a Loncky brand off of Amazon, had good reviews, but their pattern is off at least in my sample.

Flushed 16.5 quarts of fresh ATF in to the system today. This was the first four quarts I drained out. Old fluid had about 55k miles on it, flushed it right after I bought it four years ago.

That nifty bucket can be found at Lowes for just under $4.00 and makes this job stupid simple.

Just did the Loncky steering wheel refurb as well, pleased with it. I even got a nice thank you note from a China Gal. On Amazon, and you can email the seller to request partial or full perforated detail (Thanks Bretthn). They replied within two hours. Good service.

Did you remove the old leather or does this just cover it up? Looks great. I may have to do this and replace the leather cover I got...
