Saturday evening I actually put my vehicle to work in some icy mud with the diff locked:



Glad I got those Harbor Freight tow straps, made me feel better than using an actual chain in case something snapped.

Did you have to re-adjust the t bars after putting the ARB on?

What is your opinion on driving lifted pre and post ARB install?

So far I am not going to adjust my t-bars. I just put the suspension in a week ago and set it at a 1" rack with the expectation that it would drop 1/2" with the new bumper. I was prepared to crank it a few turns but surprisingly, it only dropped an 1/8", so I am good with it. I am sitting at 22" center hub to fender in the rear and 20 7/8" in the front.

It is noticeably higher but actually drives better. I think my stock suspension was shot and way too soft. It is firm but not too harsh. The wife says it now drives like a tank which I think is a good thing. The biggest adjustment is for everyone getting in and out. You wouldn't think 2.5" is that much but from the outside it looks a lot higher and is very noticeable when watching the kids climb in and out

Yeah I can imagine there is a little more leg kick followed with some groin flexing to get in and out.

Specifically after the bumper was installed did you notice any nose dive with braking, change in steering feel, better/worse shock compression? Did it feel like you installed 110lbs on the front?

Really like the way it "squared up" the appearance of your trucks front end. Surprised it only dropped the front an 1/8" but that's what you bought the Ome bars for. Out of curiosity, Did you take rear measurements before and after the drawers, fridge, slide?

Keep up the great work, I have enjoyed watching the transformation.

Thanks man, I just posted all the measurements in my build thread. No noticeable nose dive and everything feels pretty good. I expected to notice it more. I only drove it a few times with the new suspension before the bumper so it's a little difficult to compare. Based on the squishy ride before the new suspension I bet the bumper would have been very noticeable if I had done it first. The biggest adjustment is just seeing the bar rising above the hood

New rims. Had to throw on Bora 1" spacers all around. Didn't trust the few threads left on the fronts with 10mm spacer. These must be thicker as 10mm spacer with stock and some other 18" Tundra rims worked.

Finally finished my switch-pros install! Fabb'ed a mounting spot next to the battery and fuse box. Nothing connected to it yet, but will be wiring up all sorts of stuff soon. Also took the time to design in a fuse and switch for my (soon to be installed) warn winch.

I use a ram mounted ipad as my media console, and have been pretty impressed with the ability to control and program the unit with the switch-pros app. Very slick device!

Buddy that looks great. People who don't know how to wire their own stuff have NO IDEA the amount of work involved to get everything to look that clean and to have it all work first try! Bravo man, excellent attention to detail. I for one, am impressed!

Went to Big Bend over the holiday weekend. Took the LX down Old Ore (HIGH clearance off-road only) and Black Gap (VERY HIGH Clearance only). Even in Neutral height (WAAAAAAAY overloaded), the rig never scraped or scrammed into Low. Very impressed. Will be replacing rear springs in the next week or two and add airbags to assist when super heavy like I was this weekend. Did all of River Road and Glenn Springs as well. Rig got very, very dusty. Took the 2D Bech LX470 to the tip of Salina Point in Bahia De Jorge. This point is a peninsula in a very remote area difficult to route in the Sea of Cortez ~6.5 miles off the coast. See attached

If you go watch the tide charts you dont want to get land locked on the point for the night

With the LX470 aired down to 14psi it feels unstoppable in the soft deep sand.

The pay off is......

There is something very cool when you can see the ocean on both sides driving out on the peninsula.

Sprayed some Houdini Lock Lube on the key and a bit in the ignition switch. Smoothed things up a bit.

What switchss cluster is that?

I just bought what I wanted off eBay. Bought the switch housing as well. They are carling switches mounted in a modular chassis that clips together to form 1-to however many switches you need. The housings are dovetailed and expand to as many or few you need.
