Finished installing the Slee tray with compressor mount- very straightforward, just had to drill 4 holes to mount the Viair compressor. I'm cleaning up some wiring and the air hose tomorrow, as well as replacing the heater T's and diff fluids. I should probably clean up the engine bay a little bit while I'm in there again lol.

Does anyone know how to remove this rear vent? I try popping it out and it seems like the front part is stuck on something...is it all clips? Is there a hidden bolt somewhere on the back side?

I looked in the fsm but did not find much. It is a roof vent and has an inner scoop or a tube shaped thing heading upwards about 4-6 inches. I would think there are screws from the back to hold the front trim and this tube I'm describing.

Much better! Also, heater T's looked brand new lol. Oh well, I guess I have a couple spares.

swapped out my rear Slee heavy springs, spacers, and air bags for Old man 864 coils. I gained an inch in height, and the truck feels much sturdier. Wish I had done this long time ago. I measure 24' from center of center cap to fender now.

Bone stock, PO owned for 16 years, dealer maintained...
High mileage (280k) but in good nick..and AbS/mc unit and rack already replaced by dealer..

Did quite a few things this weekend...

1. Complete full transmission fluid exchange

Last weekend I drained & dropped the transmission pan to thoroughly clean the pan, magnets, and to scrape off all the old OEM FIPG which was a pain in the a$$! That post can be found HERE. This weekend I finished it by doing the running exchange - pulling the oil cooler line and cycling through the gears while idling and measuring how much was drained, then refilling through the dip stick (perks of having a pre-03 LC) and repeat. Went through 18qts. total...at $10 a qt.. I had the typical setup of using vice grips to clamp the rubber line to the side of a bucket and it worked out perfectly. As for the bucket, those orange 5gal ones from Home Depot are perfect if you buy the Leak-Tite lid too, and that's all less than $10. It's short so it fit under my truck perfectly so I didn't need ramps. I premeasured it with water to make graduations and I put a light behind the bucket so I could see the level. Enough with the talk time for pics:

Keep in mind I did the pan drain & fill last weekend, so that accounts for the four 4qt bottles that are not pictured. Total of 18qts.

2. Plasti-Dipped Moulding & Emblems

Then I went to town with a couple cans of plastidip. I did the side mouldings about 3yrs ago but didn't do a great job back then so now it looks like crap now. Time for a refresh. I was conflicted on which part(s) of it to dip so I decided to just do the whole thing and then remove whatever I don't want after a few weeks, unless I like how it is. I was thinking about removing the chrome piece and color matching that portion to the body color. Just an idea but it would go with the color matched grill emblem, right? I also did all the rear emblems which is something that I've been putting off for a while. I'm really happy with how everything turned out, I did 5 coats on the side mouldings with the 5th being the heaviest, and 4 coats on the rear emblems with the 4th being the heaviest, for a total of 2 cans. And yes I did break off the rear vent cover...and then saw the most recent thread on here about how to remove that a few hours later

4. Went to a a local car meet a few buddies of mine helped organize. A lot of cool cars but not the turn out we expected due to an early morning downpour not mixing very well with Pilot Sport Cup II's on a few McLarens, an Aventador SV, a Huracan, and a '17 Ford GT. Those guys were traveling a few hours and didn't want to risk. Unfortunately it cleared up right when the meet began and turned int o a beautiful day. An R8 missed the event and one family was out of town that had another SV and a few Rolls Royce's. One guy brought out his 458 Italia which was flawless, and the rest of the cars were a toss up of everything from BMWs, Mustangs, Porsches, Vettes, Teslas, VWs, Audis and Chargers.

Did you just order 4 and on their own they gave you 2 fronts and 2 rears? I couldn't find the difference on their website, but I am only interested in getting some fronts.

Haha, that was me asking the forum on how to remove it, i was for sure there was no bolt back there, seems like it's all plunger type of clips. There's a long ass bolt behind that thing you'll need to remove the interior panel to get to it. You'll need to double tape the entire thing now.

Yessir and I saw that you started that thread literally 1.5hrs after I broke that off My plan is to remove the old shoddy plastidip job that was previously on it, re-dip it (do a better job this time) and then double-sided tape or JB-Weld it back in place

This looks so freaking good. I had to google hydrodipping—had never heard of it. Did you use a film to do it? And can you post up some pics of it installed?

Just call, they are custom made anyhow and take about 2-3 weeks to get in hand. They'll make anything you want.
