It was a couple of weeks ago, but nonetheless I had a Borla Pro XS muffler (p/n: 40358) installed and got seated next to an 80 friend...
Hey @LXstatic - did you happen to catch the guy's name? I've seen him a couple of times but was never in a position to flag him down.

That looks like Tan Camo Plastidip.

I did not, he must have dropped off and gone to work or something. I was the only one in waiting area.

slapped a new deck in the LX, now I just need to do that cigarette lighter mod for the plug ins..

Purchased a 2003 LC a couple weeks ago. SoCal car with 196xxx on it.

Removed the running boards the first night, swapped all interior lights to LED, all exterior lights aside from headlights and fog lights to LED, and installed the LED rely the next morning. Two days later I added BT45-TOY. Yesterday I added an LX evap cover with cabin air filters and today I put a kill switch on the DRLs.

If only customs would release my OME torsion bars I could get the OME 2.5" mediums and total chaos UCAs installed.

So happy to have a hundy back in the stable!

Which Kenwood deck did you get @kreiten? The guys at my local car stereo store recommended I get a Kenwood for Hi-Res (ya, I'm that guy). Thinking about a Christmas present. haha

Hopefully this will fix the taste smell of the coffe spill..

Sadly I don't have that many tools, so I have the use a wire wheel (three wire wheels)

I order two boxes of @bulk" dynamat for the the whole floor and also the doors, etc
Man this thing is heavy but is actually very easy to apply..

I fill all the channels so the main layer has more even surface to glue.

Hopefully the smell wil be gone and also polar bear will be quieter..

I played around with all the decks and did some research etc... In the end I just really liked the interface of the Kenwood deck, the feel of the touch screen and felt it had a bit more pop to the screen! Here's the deck I got below, let me know if ya got any more questions etc.. thanks,

This was one of those days that didn't go so well.

I started on the install of my Slee rear bumper. The bumper (of you want to call it that) was easy to remove. The receiver hitch should have been easy to remove. I don't know if the receiver hitch was factory or if one of the previous owners installed it (and screwed up one of the bolts). I flushed the sand and bs out of the frame rails and then when it was dry I hit the nuts with some PB Blaster. Even so one bolt wouldn't budge and the welds on the captured nut snapped. I ended up sawing it in half (yay SawZall) so I could finish removing the hitch.

I'm going to try to find a metric nut and install the bumper brackets later this week. Hopefully the bumper will still slide in with the front bracket attached.

The PO had installed air bags in the coil springs. That's what the far left connector that is hanging down is for (air). He spent a lot of time down in Mexico. So far I haven't found any secret compartments :smokin: :poof: i have no idea if the bags still hold air. They look like they are in pretty good shape.

Rather than let the day waste away without accomplishing anything I decided to install the new stereo and speakers. After all, I was able to buy a plug and play amp bypass wiring harness for the head unit and the speakers came with nifty plastic adapters that make the speakers plug and play so that shouldn't take long at all... uh no... there isn't anything plug and play about the wiring harness and the adapters don't fit the bolt pattern in my door (by about an inch). I'll drill new holes to make them work but the point is that I shouldn't have to. If you buy from Crutchfield and select speakers for a 2000 TLC they will still supply the POS adapters. What happened to that company? I've been buying from them online since 1995 and well before that when they were just a catalog based company... they used to be reliable. I can get this kind of junk from Walmart.

Tomorrow I'll probably install the OME rear springs and shocks. Surely that won't turn into a cluster?

Once the rear lift and shocks are in I'll turn the LC around and start on the front. Monday I'll have the spare tire replaced and get one of the front tires (KO2's) fixed. It has a slow leak. Hopefully I'll be able to find a metric nut to slip into the frame for the bumper bracket and get that installed this coming week. It will be nice to have the bumper installed and the spare up on the carrier.

Projects for the upcoming week:

Once the lift, diff drop, UCA's, and shocks are on I'll start on a major electrical job. I'm going to run #2 wire to the rear area from the #2 battery and connect it to a Blue Sea fused distribution block. I want to upgrade all of the aux wire sockets (cigarette lighter plugs) wiring to a fused, always on, auto power off if the battery gets low circuit rather then the crappy source power they are on now.

I need to finish the dual battery setup, including the wiring between the battery's, the relay, and whatever I'm forgetting about. The battery monitor system is part of that. I haven't decided where I want to put the indicator.

I decided to install the switches and solenoids for the air lockers now. I'll plug the solenoid ports so no trash gets in them. Lockers are on my mind but the front bumper and winch are ahead of them.

I need to install my HF and VHF/UHF Ham rigs (not sure where the heads for those will go) and antennas.

I need to run the "nifty plug and get pissed harness" that I got from Crutchfield to the amp area, install speakers, and finish the stereo install. I really hope the speaker wiring is still good. The electrical projects will require me to pull my passenger front seat and rear seat so I want to be sure to get everything done while they are out.

I wonder if I'll ever get to drive it?

Looking at my lawn... if I don't get on my mower soon it's going to be bad... so that might change my timeline up a bit.

Just hung out and had beer with a bunch of great cruiser owners here in Austin..... @Austin Hot Shoe

Finally installed Slee front bumper.

Did the cutting and painting last week so ready to roll today.

I ran out of shims, so used a cadmium-coasted fender washers I had, worked out fine. Did not drill the holes for the four long bolts that go through the frame as they had no chance of lining up with the existing factory holes and the slee bracket. Maybe when I get a winch I'll scab a plate and re-drill holes.

Slee says to cut a body sheet metal tabs below the head lights, but I had no interference.....I would have left them as the tabs conceal wiring behind it for a cleaner look.
