After years in the industry, I'm to the point of being happy for people just plain using a quality oil but for the love of God, just change it by time or mileage.

That's the secret sauce

Rant over, thanks for listening

Well I had to remove the snorkel and fender so that I could weld on a grade 10 nut to the back of the fender to feed a grade 10 bolt through. Drilled another hole for the safety chain to attach to the frame in case the grade 10 bolt that was attached to the grade 10 now captured nut failed. The coozie was overheating in this location and I was at my wits end. I considered overdoing it and installing an electronically releasing latch to easily detach said coozie but I figured that would be overdoing it NLXTACY style :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Is she hangin' with Willie, Waylon, and the boys?

which I pass every time my way to "Tools R Us" ;)

I haven't has this 80 long, so my base lining is on going. The PO said the front axle had been redone which I realized soon was clearly a lie. I know I'll need to order that stuff soon. In the meantime I decided to pop the front wheels off today for a quick inspection of the brakes and found some pretty serious cracking in the rubber lines going to the caliper. :(

I redid all my brake lines, it's good piece of mind. That said, man, after 18 years running, took my lines off, they were cracked to Hades, but after inspecting the inner line, they probably would've lasted another 10 years. Again, it's good piece if mind.

Good to know I likely haven't been putting my life in serious danger.

I had a brake line that looked very similar fail on one of my other vehicles. Very scary experience.
