@Lexland what is that brown stuff on the axle. I'm not familiar with it. :flipoff2:

He he, oh that little surface rust you're taking about is standard feature on our 80s, which is about get really fancy once I get my grinder out knock some dust off those axles and paint them babies like new :)

Man I can't tell you enough how much I love this ride and how addicted I'm working on it, I keep doing things to it as much as I possibly can on my free time to make it awesome ;)

That stuff right there is why rigs up north don't overheat- they are air-cooled through all the additional holes! We got all kinds of holes up heah! Top holes, bottom holes, side holes, and even a-holes that make spreading salt everywhere necessary. Lots of rust holes improves your connection with nature and all that warm fuzzy jazz. Plus, when your truck is getting lighter every year from flakes constantly falling off it improves your power to weight ratio so much that you don't need a supercharger. And, you're pre-recycling the steel of your truck back into natural oxides as you drive, which has to be good for the environment, right? See, win, win, win! It's so awesome!

Yeah right.....:bang:
Friggin' road salt...

Anyhow, to keep it on topic I went snow wheeling this weekend, alone (like an idiot), got seriously very stuck and had to dig, jack, and hand-winch out. All in all it meant about 4 hours of thrashing around in the dark, in the mud, which was under the ice, which was under the snow, which made the swale hole invisible. :censor: and :censor: again!

Currently thawing all the frozen mud off the truck to survey the damage, and searching what's left of my recovery gear for survivors. I really do have to learn to drive this thing better, because both times I have been really stuck it was simply because of my own driver error in picking the line.:crybaby: Both times I got through the same section just by trying a different line (after I got out of the mess I put myself in.)

Well, noplace else to go but up I suppose. Gonna hafta do some pondering on what all I haul for recovery stuff that's for sure, and maybe find somebody smarter than me to learn from. Right now that wouldn't seem too hard...

UPDATE- looks like I got off pretty easy actually, one fender flare and the wheels need repainting where I spun half the paint off in the goo. Got some wood jammed in one tire bead that'll have to come out, and a few new scratches, but all in all not so bad. Whew! Lucky!

Pretty sure that's an Ironman front bumper. Slightly different hoops, angles, and the added light housings. Very nice alternative to ARB

Bought it a few hours ago in Miami. Now to drive it 1100 miles back to Ohio. It has a 6" lift on it, wish me luck.

Used it to drag some trees around at my brother in law's horse farm. Also, used the air compressor to reseat a trailer tire on the bead.

Tested out all the repairs I mentioned here. I drove from Chantilly, VA to Charlotte, NC on Friday afternoon (400 miles), then from Charlotte, NC to Nemo, TX (1100 miles) on Saturday.

The bracket held up great. Went from broken, temporarily held on with cable ties:

The mechanic told me that I still had a leak from the valve cover gasket and the oil cooler. The new rocker box gasket certainly held up, and after 1100 miles the other leaks seemed to become more significant. I gave it a good cleaning and it looked to me like the only leak was the valve cover gasket. Just replaced that and haven't seen a drop of oil since.

Still steadily leaking power steering fluid...

That simple and cool, where did you get theat? Btw at what degree our pigs will flip?
Depends on the height and center of balance. My rig has the same type of indicator and is not lifted, and I hit a full 30 degrees of right tilt just the other day. I sure was puckered up though... I have the spare, a jack, and a shovel on the roof so close to 100 extra pounds up theah.
