Decided to finally try plasti-dipping the front grill and part of the headlight surrounds dark grey. A bit too cold outside so why not use Mom and Dad's basement as a warm dry spray booth? Little did I know the HVAC intake is down there and I fumigated the dining room just before Christmas dinner . Thankfully I'd given Mom and sister scented candles for Christmas.
It's really simple - two screws on top (aiming downwards) and three screws recessed into the grill wings (aiming towards the engine from the outside), then a small tab to depress on the engine side center top of the grill and it pops right off. I also sprayed the to top headlight surrounds since they were just two screws to remove. If I like the color I'll take the headlights and corners off to get those or just tape them and spray if it's warm enough. So far happy with it, and it survived one car wash.
Will post a photo when I get the chance, I used Plasti-Dip Dark Grey.
No I did not. I probably should have, but was not sure enough whether I'd keep it until it was 'dipped' so I did the quick and dirty. I kind of figured the primer was another add-on product and questioned its importance. Anyone?
Replaced my front brake pads and went ahead and bled the brake system. The fluid that came out was only 2 and a half years old. Should have done it sooner
Replaced some hoses. Checked belts. (Are all belts supposed to be v grooved? As in not notched? All three of mine are notched. One specifically has a Toyota part number on it. Didn't see it on the others. Want to replace if I should.)
Also did a little Plasti-Dipping like hamishpotter...in preparation of new LEDs...
Oh crap that's a bummer, reinforces that lesson that a grill guard may not protect your stock bumper (I've still got my stock, crooked bumper so not tryin' to say I told you so
