Thanks to a collaborative effort involving Booger Weldz (access to very large break) and Jcardona1 (use of his welder) I'm closer to a final design. Testing yet to come. I made several templates last week, and finally sent this version down to Boog. He got the 10g version back to me and we burnt them on last night in the dark at Jose's. I spliced into my old wire loom just to field test it tonight in the dark and check for vibrations and final tweeks.

Looks good man... you need to help Jose finish his bumper. Should had that thing done in a day two tops!!

Finally did the zip tie shaky mirror fix after putting that off for WAY too. That's seriously a 5 minute job.

The shop got my new magnaflow y-pipe installed late last week, and so far I've really enjoyed it. Seems to have dampened pretty much all of the rough idle i was experiencing, along with the hard vibration i was getting in reverse. Butt dyno suggests a little added power off the line? I seem to be climbing all of the Seattle in town hills with a bit more oomph as well. Totally un-scientific of course.

I painted the y-pipes and cats in VHT, and decided to paint my manifold heat shields in it as well. It looked like most people had done ceramic with theirs, but I was trying to knock this out as an easy afternoon project. I did the recommended "bake" on idling on and off a couple of times, then driving around for 30 min. I'll report back on how the VHT holds up but it certainly looks good so far.

One of these days i'll get around to the manifolds themselves! I really want to knock out the valve cover as well, but was planning to save that for the time i end up needing to do my HG (knocking on wood that's still a ways off).

Engine bay is a little dusty from some forest service roads I got out on last weekend, heading out for a hike in the Cascades.

Spent the majority of the day stripping the dirty koala down in prep for Monstaliner. Ran into some trouble with the snorkel removal as one of the studs was spinning and the nut was not coming off. Sawzall to the rescue.

Did some wheeling at Haspin again this weekend with my little jeep friends. It was pretty slippery the first day because of all the rain we've been getting over here recently. Had a good time and got the toyota hung up pretty good twice. The first time I was hill climbing on a trail with a good sized rock ledge. I couldn't clear the rear diff and got wedged between the ledge and a tree behind me. Couldn't get away from the tree so I had to pile some rocks in front of the rear tires and winch myself up. The second was coming down a slick hill that emptied into a creek. I ended up perched on the edge of a 2.5-3' drop and had to use the winch to pull the nose to the left so I didn't fall of the ledge. Talk about a heart stopper. haha Also put some man-a-fre spacers on. I need some 35s now.

And this picture pretty much sums up how most of the day went. haha

I'm jacking stuff up as fast as I can! Tacked in the stinger last night but I think I'm gonna take it out

And instead put in a flat tube. Fab up some mounts for my light bar and have that be the "stinger". I think it'd look too busy with a hoop and light bar above/behind it
