Reminder to check your transmission hoses.

Came back from the grocery ready to put on the winter tires when I say the transmission fluid leak. :( Replaced all the coolant hoses and had visually checked the transmission hoses this past spring. I think the fan shroud pinched it upon reassembly. :bang: It was completely rotten at the under end, prob attacked by battery acid since the clamp was rusted away. At least it broke in the driveway and not on the road to the sun. Still lots of fluid in the transmission so hopefully that is ok.

Going to check out local parts store for 3/8" transmission hose tomorrow. Fatal mistake not going Oem?

New rotors , calipers , 100 series pads , bleed and ready also, new fuel pump (thanks Beno) , ... and replacing fuel filter tomorrow , too rainy

Installed eBay cheapie 48 LED panels in domes. Not bad at $10 for 5 shipped from China.

Took the 80 to Haspin. Had a lot of fun putting my friend in his cherokee to shame. Also realized my temp gauge doesn't work when the coolant started boiling. I think I'm going to have to look into extra cooling or a better radiator or something.

Finished a set of door panels. Installed flashlight charger on my own.

Removed the throttle body, cleaned it and check the TPS. Replaced the accelerator cable and the firewall steering shaft seal. Idles good, down shifts correctly and no more hot feet.

Well someone found their overheating problem lol

Yeah. QBALL came over late last night, while the wives were sleeping. We had our rendezvous in the thick of night :rainbow:

The plan was to install his new shocks and look at his overheating issue.

He had every sign:
1. Bubbles in the overflow
2. Mysterious loss of coolant
3. Humid, sweet smelling exhaust
4. Choco milk in PCV catch

Total bummer.

busy weekend wrenching and working on the truckster....

changed out the fuel filter..... still have a little skin left on my knuckles but not much.... what a pain !

swapped out the 4x4 Lab spare tire carrier for my 3 can carrier - planning to put the tire on the rack when I do trips .....

and then finally mounted and ran wiring for the Viair pump and inverter..... also about to add a Bllue Sea dual USB panelto replace the Cigarette tray..... off to the store....
I also put Rock climbing climbing loops onto the rear seat belt mount bolts to secure things in the future - I did the same for the upper ones in the rear - found those at REI

I also put Quick Fists to mount the Shovel and Axe inside...... this is the only thing so far that Princess has shook her head at..... she's worried at what I might use it for I think....

mount is AMAZINGLY solid...... no movement at all - I mount both the inverter and pump on visco isolators but it hardly moves.... Nice work !

Total bummer.

I had a busy weekend.

Gutted the interior, headliner, door panels, carpet and spent hours scrapping the insulation from the roof. Removed AOE bumper, sliders, Warn 9.5 XP winch and the 4 x 4 Labs rear bumper.

Removed all flares and the factory roof rack. Drilled all nutcerts out and prepped for welding and bedliner.

Wow I am tired!
