Those were just place holders to get the nozzles where I wanted them.

When you're moving forward and the fan is pulling air through the radiator, will the misters even get the radiator wet? Shouldn't they be on the front of the radiator? Did I miss something? Those were just place holders to get the nozzles where I wanted them.![]()

Again, you folks are looking at the condenser. The radiator wasn't in yet. The misters are mounted in front of the aluminum radiator. If you look at this photo, in the space in FRONT of the radiator, you will see the four misting nozzles.
Misters look good, just make sure that you use plain water and not windshield washer fluid.![]()
Installed some matte black vinyl to reduce the glare from the lights I installed on my new Baja Rack. Add in the dual battery system Torfab installed this week and I'm getting close to final overland vehicle status.

I'm interested in knowing more about that vinyl, looks like a good way to get the job done.
So I've been researching this like mad. Most windshield washer fluid, Methanol, is ~55% water and ~45% alcohol. The alcohol has a 16x evaporation rate compared to water. When all of the engine fluids were tested on a 1000deg heated pipe, everything tested flamed up immediately. Washer fluid wasn't tested because it would evaporate before it had a chance to ignite.
So then I was thinking about what is going on that could cause it to ignite. Since it is atomized (misted) it should ignite easier. But it is all buffered by the radiator. Nothing to potentially ignite it.
By using Methonal I would enjoy more evaporative cooling as well.
I've yet to find a single case of washer fluid igniting in the car.
I'm still trying to figure it out so any further info would help.
Wasn't worried about ignition. Methanol is hugely corrosive to thin aluminum like that in the fins on your radiator. It attacks the aluminum oxide that forms and protects the outside of the aluminum and once that is gone corrodes the thin aluminum quickly.
