Started my knockoff Gamiviti rack. Next up are additional bars for a kayak mount and a partial expanded metal floor to hold my Action Packer totes.

I should have bought a welder years ago.

What did you get? I just ordered a TIG/MIG machine. It's been forever since I did stick so I expect a bit of a learning curve on some scrape metal. ;)

I picked up a Hobart 140 and I'm running it with C25 gas. I did a little bit of gas and stick welding in highschool so the technique came back pretty quickly. This machine makes it easy to lay down good looking beads.

Did you happen to pick up a bender to go along with that welder rig? ;-p

That's a great little machine, I have one as well. It will do most all you'll ever need it to and they don't cost ya a million bucks.

Brought it home.

Pulled the third row, Took the wheels off, crawled over it and made a list...

Batter isn't tied down.
Drivers seat leather has blown a seam.
Passenger front axle seal has gotta be blown....Big goop on the birfield....
Engine Oil leak can't be pinpointed.... Gotta wash it.

After that, the fun begins. Although I don't have any big plans. Just a swing away tire rack, new (bigger?) tires, little tweaks like a cdl switch.

It's a 97 collectors edition... 180k miles.

Pics later, smugmug seems to be rejecting me today. I think I owe them $50.

Beach running, caught on snorklecam

i put my sliders on...and I also painted them as well!

Not yet - but I really want one. One of these days I'd like to build some rub rails along the fender openings.

Yesterday I started working on the partial floor. Added some thin wall 5/8" square tubing for more support as the expanded metal will be thin to save weight.

The small floor will hold 6 of these Action Packer totes

Installed the StrongArm hood struts. 20 year old original struts had developed a nasty habit of wanting to smack me on the head. Nice quality and 5 minute install and hood pops up with little effort and STAYS up now without a wood stick to hold it up.

Leaving in one week to Yellowstone and Glacier by way of Lake Tahoe.

Finished rebuilding right side birf by replacing both the birf and axle shaft with OEM.

Made new battery tie down finally!

Made, installed and tested my new permanently mounted coolant flushing mod.

NLXTACY your second clamp from the right needs to be rotated down about 15* :flipoff2:
