Found some time to finish tearing down the 8274. I have used the dremel brush, wire brush, brake cleaner, and degreaser. Still work to be done before paint.

Wouldn't mind seeing how you installed it. Bumper type? I'm interested in installing one of these but there are few examples on MUD.

I have one in a Cruisin Offroad bumper. You can also use a commercial ARB bar (designed for 8274) or a regular ARB bar (requires cutting the grill to clear the winch).

Best pics I can find that show winch/bumper:

Robbed from the 91 and gave to the 97. Warning BFH used.

More pics are posted the Trails forum (unlike the last time I said I'd do a trail report :flipoff2:)

woah! that looks awesome! any details on how to get there or what i should search for on google to get the right ones? is that a hot spring you guys are swimming in or a regular pool?

Yeah, those are 100% natural hot springs (95 degrees) they are on private property that is OPEN to the public. Here is a link on how to get there.

here is a page about the lava tubes, if you zoom out on the map you will see fillmore to the East.

This is a awesome place that I had no idea existed and I live 2 hours away.

FYI the hot springs are only 1-2 miles as the crow flies from the lava tubes.

There are really cool lava flows just north of the tubes, they are the youngest in Utah at on 660 years old..

I will most likely be cutting the lower bar out. Similar to the attached photo done by another MUD member.

Can you guys start a thread on this when you start it so I can subscribe and then copy and/or contribute? I will probably do something to accommodate my 8274 as well, but not for a little while....

You can cut it, bend it and reweld it too.

Or just add a couple aluminum spacers and cut into your grill... Less work.

Please make fun of my hook so I get motivated to buy a fairlead.

Do a search for 8274 in the 80 forum, lots of discussions on this. I even have a thread somewhere that I cannot find with search!

Wow, that thread is even color coded.:flipoff2:

Thanks, I suck at search... looks like the other method is posted in there too where the bar is cut and bent and welded back in.

Discovered a leaky rear heater line. The metal pipe rusted through right above the heat shield. I've never used the rear heater in the four years that I've owned the 80, so I did the rear heater bypass.

Thanks, you taught this old dog a new trick!

Took a dirt bike rider out to the boonies to check out his new 80. We just put 315's and a 4" lift on it this week. He's green, I'm white. He did great. He got the rythm for his rig in the rocks pretty quick. He also did very well on the super tight trails up in the trees.
