It is a homebred Power hook for my CPAP, alligator clips to battery. CPAP DOES 12 V per spec. Runs for 3 nights straight from battery. Can't wait till I get time to hook up a dual system.
Took the family up to blue lakes in the Sierra Nevada's to finally try out the cruiser, lockers worked great, looks like the stock mudflats may have to go, they scraped on just about everything! 160 mile trip, no major issues other than a weird vibration under power only, coming from the front, maybe a front driveline u-joint? I'll inspect over the weekend. So nice to have an off road rig that can fit the whole family with all our gear and drive home with a/c and comfortable seats never letting this thing get away from me!
Performed my monthly diff-lock exercising at one of the only places around here with dirt--the county fairgrounds. Had to use the area behind the horse barns today as the truck/tractor-pulling grandstands were closed (they are usually open). Yee-haw!
Tried to pull off my inoperable rear lock actuator and found one of the bolts (worst one to get at of course) immovable.
Figured well WTH and tried pulling the gear cover with the thing still on the axle, very first bolt snapped right off...
Gotta love living in the the rust belt....
On the bright side, found a used one on ebay and jumped on it, but I still have to get the existing one off without breaking the bolt off because there is no way I can see to drill it out without removing the entire axle and torching off the spring mount to get a clear shot. Anyone got a better way? It is the upper rearmost bolt, the one with everything in the way. Any advice is appreciated!
Replaced my PHH today. I built it up as such a nightmare job that in reality it wasn't that difficult. Took me about 1.5 hours. Glad to have that over with.
Well got the LC back finally after about 5 weeks, had the TJM 50mm kit installed and it rides soooo much better I feel like i'm in an 18 wheeler since i've traded in my FJC for a FRS so glad to be back up high
rides 100x better, much smoother as i went with progressive springs although i have a feeling i'm going to need to upgrade the rear when i order a swingout...
I helped out a friend by paying him to take a shot at curing the dreaded EGR CEL code. He had my LC for two days: changed a couple of dry-rotted hoses; blew out some others; cleaned out the modulator. He didn't do anything to the VSV, and apologized profusely for not being able to figure why the code kept coming back. However, I've cranked her at least a dozen times, and driven her over 200 miles, since I got her back and so far, no CEL!
