cruisers of all varities seen

Took a quick trip to SE Costa Rica (Puerto Viejo) as well into Bocas Del Toro archipelago of Panama and seen many, many types of cruisers, mainly Toyota, but Land Rovers, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, the big truck is an Isuzu 4X4 from Australia, they were wating on the ferry to get back to the mainland of Panama (Almirante). They all had two things in common...4X4 and DIESEL.......even the mini van transports were 5 speed manual diesels....so jealous!! Nice times!!

John are you going to come be our guide this month? We could really use your mad AZ strip navigation skills.

AZ Strip

Hey Mike, the weekend of the "run" is my final state practical test for EMT, won't be able to make it for the whole weekend, but maybe I could bust out for a couple of days!:steer:

glad you like Panamá .. ( Bocas ) Puerto Viejo it's lots of fun too .. can be tad more wild .. than Bocas ..

The Webastos are amazing we run one on our 2009 Tucker Sno-Cat in the winter it works great. It Gets our 173hp Cummins industrial to about 60 degrees from 0 degrees in about 20 min. Prob the best $900.00 US that a guy can spend, with a diesel with no power to it in.

Title = Procrastination.

Well I've had my 80 going on 2 years now, so I thought I would start maintaining it since it has been so good to me.

No not really, I came home from work the other day and noticed all my coolant leaked out onto the driveway.

So the inspection began Sunday. :wrench:

1) Radiator leaks from upper tank.
2) [STRIKE]Almost[/STRIKE] all things composed of rubber under the hood need replacing (obviously).
3) Negative battery cable is beyond repair (a penny was inserted in it to keep it tight since I bought it, I upgraded to a dime, a silver dollar is too hard to come by so I'll just replace it finally)
4) Valves need to be adjusted (it sounds like a diesel, only louder)
5) Some vacuum lines are plugged with bolts (could be why my cruise control doesn't work)
6) All 3 V Belts are cracked.
7) Normal maintenance items Spark plugs cap rotor filters etc.
8) Power steering pressure hose leaking at crimp.
9) [STRIKE]Almost[/STRIKE] all suspension bushings look warn out.

I am being urged to get rid of the truck, but of course I know better, this is a Firefly-class transport (doubt most of you get the joke).

So I removed my radiator and took it to my radiator/CAC specialist, he said he can easily fix it for $75.00 :grinpimp: (wanted to stay all metal radiator so I went for it)

So I have been pressure washing the hell out of it and will be plugging along replacing whatever needs replacing. I love my $1500.00 FJ80 and hope to keep her going for many years to come.

Thanks for reading!
