ironhippy,

Was there much difference in your L/100km at the different speeds?
Taking my LX to Vermont on a ski trip in the new year and was wondering if it would make much of a difference at 110 vs 120km/hr on the highway.

I know some people may flame me, but I did it anyway. This was a Craigslist find that I saw Wednesday night, bought Thursday afternoon, and installed today (except for the wiring harness). The guards have been powder-coated and the PIAAs are 520 yellow ion driving lights, I think.

Changed spark plugs
cleaned air filter
topped off diff fluid
pumped some more grease into the birfs
washed it

Just wrapping up a long day pulling parts off the parts truck I bought. Today I got done:
-headlights, grille, turn signals, corner lenses, headlight washer setup, bosch horns
-rear bumper corner, aluminum center piece, receiver hitch
-component set from front door, coaxials from rear doors, stereo, dash, switches with pigtails
-ARB front bumper and IPF 800xs lights and wiring
-OME 850/860 springs, OME nitro charger shocks and OME steering stabilizer

Still have the front fender and Safari snorkel to pull off, and I think I'm pretty well ready to get it out of my garage!

My question is this, the truck has Aisin selectable front hubs on it that I'd like, but I have nothing to replace them with. Can I just pull them off and throw the wheels back on, or will that bugger the front knuckles on the axles when I store the truck outside as there's no cap on the end of the axle? What if I pack the hub full of grease?

Dodged a rainy day and got a little break, just rotated my tires with Black Rhino 13. (thanks!) Might order up a 60 series emblem for a winter grill project today too. :)

You won't have any drive at the front wheels without hubs or drive slugs. You would probably be fine to pack with grease if it's just going to sit outside.

CDL/7 pin mod. Can't believe how simple this was, directions under FAQ from cruiserdan were awesome.

That's a good point, I cut out the center diff lock switch today so I wouldn't be able to drive it without those. Hmm, can they be removed with the wheels on the truck?

.... (except for the wiring harness).

Ok, I decided to tackle the wiring harness for the PIAA lights this afternoon. While working on it, my parents dropped by, and my dad offered to help me. We were working around the battery and my dad says "you've got a loose wire." I found out WAY after the fact that it was the AM2 fusible link wire. Neither one of us had ever seen anything like that before on a battery lead. I assumed that it was part of the old after-market cellphone set up, and simply cut it. Imagine my surprise when we connected everything and I turned the key! Anyway, after about 30-45 minutes on here and I found out that I need OEM # 90982-08264. Live and learn.

Yes, they can be removed with the wheels on.

I can maybe snag them once it's loaded on the buyer's trailer then. Thanks!

You can remove the hubs without taking the rims off.
You might have a part time kit in your t-case if you have the hubs on.

How would you tell? I don't think it does, but it would be good to know.

Went to the hills to search out and cut a x-mas tree on forest service land. Great day with the wife and kids.

View attachment 702127last week end... and the week before last... including my day off(s) :(

...after removing the front drivers side carnage ( split rotors, broken inner axel, stuck hub with fragments of bearings ang nuts/ washers) all beacause of lack of grease... due too poor maintenance of previous owner plus neglect to recheck it on my part.

1. knucle rebuild x2...
2. Rears :repacking of hub bearings, repalced oil seals x4 ( including axle seals)
3. installed new emergency brake pads x1, adjusted the other
4. diff oil change= front and back
5. now back to front... changed hub bearings x4 ( including the race) , inner axle seals x2, hub seals x2
6. mated new rotor to hub DS.
7. replaced leaking caliper seals - Drivers side
8. finally Test drive last tuesday- verdict=== good braking, drives ok on winding road. need to repalce DS caliper still leaks a little bit.

almost forgot , installed a used front outer birf on the DS..
