New Energy suspension rear sway bar and end link bushings. Also stopped my tool rattle with Craftsman foam pads that are for cutting out the tool shape. Put the wrench, socket and deep well all together for easy access and less drawer opening/searching.

Removed roof rack.

Checked sunroof drains for blockages (found none). Pulled dash apart and removed stereo/cd player, mounted stereo tabs to my Pioneer deck and mounted my CB below it in the second din.

At least it's the shop truck. Better than having to explain to the customer why his minor complaint suddenly is going to costs 3 times as much and take twice as long....It's heck being the boss in a shop sometimes.

Oh....I wish your explanation was not indeed the truth...running a cruiser shop is not easy. Ask Mudrak or Georg or Lance or the ACC folks or Robbie or Christo's crew...anyone turning a wrench for a living...or having to have to deal with 40 yr old trucks, or 30 yr old trucks, or (gasp!) 20 yr old rigs (i.e., the earliest 1FZ is now 20 yrs old as of August 2012)...

Luckily, I get my zen time by doing 1FZ work...that's the easy stuff. :). I can do an 80 series front axle job with my eyes closed at this point. I know Robbie can do an entire 1FZ engine jobber with his eyes closed...i hope to be that fxxxin cool one day...no joke.

I climbed a mountain and didn't break anything or get any new dents. Maybe a scratch though. I had to brush up against a tree or two.

Installed TJM 50mm lift, removed running boards and removed spare tire.

35's get installed on Wednesday.

Had a "road-block" weekend on the Land Cruiser. Worked on it 26 hours. There is a short, fat, radiator hose from the water pump to an interim pipe that is located in a bracket with no room around it. Jerry spent the night, took him & I 2 hours to replace the hose, but it really needed to be done as the old hose was like a balloon.

Then went to replace the oil pump. Long story short, the collar or female part in the block that the oil pump slides into had a burr on it from the original casting. They must have pounded it in at the factory. So, I had to take that part out, bolts where hidden by the oil cooler, oil cooler bolts hidden by the distributor. So, had to take oil cooler & distributor out to get to the "oil pump holder", found the burr, filed it down, clean & regasket the oil cooler. Reinstall everything. 6 hours for a 1/2 hour job.

Found that 20 years & 220K miles makes cork gaskets like concrete. Took forever to get the old gasket material off a side engine cover (that leaked oil like a seive). Once that was off along with the oil cooler & distributor, good opportunity for more cleaning, so spent extra 2 hours cleaning. Replaced the side cover gasket.

Finally, got to next on my list which was install pistons. #2 rod threads are tore-up. Nut gets to the point of holding cap on and just turns. Wonder it that was the reason for eating #2 piston? So either need washer so torquing on good threads, new stud in rod, or new rod. Got the other 5 pistons in.

Other stuff: ordered radiator from (buyaradiator.com) for $160, all aluminum, 3-row, lifetime warranty. Recieved LED lights for interior.

A little beach time for the 80 at Ponce Inlet.

I just finished it last night and snapped a couple quick pics this morning to show the guys at work.

It's rolled on. Fairly easy I suppose, though it tends to set up a bit quick in the can and roller tray which causes a lot of goobers to get rolled in with it. Had the wife following behind me with a pair of tweezers haha :p

A couple touch-ups where I painted outside the lines on the trim and she'll be good to go.
