Been thinking about getting one, what's your opinion on this?
I really like it! Especially now that I've figured out a way to secure it better. I went back and forth for months before deciding on a tailgate cover option. I thought seriously about some of the storage solutions (Huracan, etc.), but ultimately I did not want to cut into the tailgate (same reason I don't have snorkel yet, lol). The Mountain Hatch is simple, less expensive, useful (food grade cutting board, so great for campsite food prep), and solved the main problem, which was replacing the old ratty carpet tailgate cover.
Only potential issue is it does get very slippery when it's wet. But for around $200 (if you catch a sale), I highly recommend.
Exitoffroad.com makes an almost identical product, but for a little bit less. But they're made in California. I'm always gonna choose made in Texas over made in California. ;) 🤠

you are 100% correct...the challenge is finding the short but I am working on it. I do have a multimeter. This challenge has really brought out the best in the people here..It's an amazing community and I thank you all. I will keep working on it.
good luck mate. Start with the obvious, check your grounds......

Found a replacement for the tensioner on the 1fzfe, this one is ratcheting like the old style found sometimes on the early 93-94 fzj80. Going to put it in and will report back with my findings. I will share the part number If it works out. Trying to avoid that timing chain slack on initial start up before the oil pressure is built up.

A win for the OBD1 models 😎🤘
Correction...MOST OBD1's! I'm a 10/94 build and OBD1, but with the hydro version. I tried to get one of your style from Joey before Witt's End took a dump, but no luck. Glad to see that there may be a good alternative!

Very cool
