I bought my stolen 1997 Collector's Edition back !!! Sounds strange and yeah this whole thing has been absolutely a trip. Some of you know the back story and if not it's out on this forum somewhere but short story. Car gets stolen, insurance is being dicks with valuation, gets settled finally, a month later a friend alerts me that he found it on the street, I go get it and drive it home, call insurance and they are no help, call the detective and he ignores me, sits in the driveway for a month, call insurance again, gets towed, a couple weeks go by and I buy it back!!!
Now I want to change out the ignition tumbler and all the locks so if anyone knows where to get them that would be cool. Luckily there wasn't really any damage except for a couple of door handles and lock tumblers.
Glad to be back in the cool kids club 😁View attachment 3856570View attachment 3856571

Installed a center diff lock switch and did the 7pin mod today. Had to do some jumbling around of the switches to get everything in place so all the wires weren’t too stretched. I removed the old security system light, moved the rear defrost to that position, moved the emergency blinker where the defroster was and then had enough stretch to plug in the new diff lock switch. This happened to cause my lovely faux wood stickers to start to peel from around the switches so next thing will be pulling it all off. I kind of like the look without it anyway.
The 7pin mod was also a pain but I managed to get it done without any extra damage! Pulled the retainer from the plug and popped the wire with the clip out rather than cutting the wire so it can be put back if wanted. Tested it out and have full locker capability in 4hi and, 4lo without diff lock so that’s pretty cool!

This is on my “to do” list as well… think I bought the switch about 2yrs ago….

I think I found the root cause of my intermittent running issue that's been annoying me for the last year....

Injector 1-5...all looking ok...and then number 6!

Lots of goodies heading my way since this is apart. :wrench::wrench:🦀

I've been lurking since I bought my Land Cruiser in October. I have replaced the fuel pump and cleaned out the gas tank. Trying to figure out why it won't start. I jumped the EFI relay with some wire, and I had 12v at the fuel pump. I tried to start it and it blew the EFI fuse, which had a 20A fuse instead of 15A. I also found a bunch of fuses in the glovebox, so that's a pretty good hint that it's an ongoing problem.
I went hunting for a short and found more things that need fixed (cracked hoses, broken rusty check valve). I need to get some vinyl wiring harness tape and start rewrapping what I have unraveled.

Welcome to the community!

I would probably start a thread for this.

I would look at any area that the harness passes near a heat source. Not your engine, but the 1FZ-FE harness has a real issue of shorting near the EGR.

Then I would look at any area that any prior owner has messed with.

The following is where a Electrical Wiring Diagram (EWD) for your year is an absolute necessity.

I would use a meter, and test resistances to ground on all the pins on the EFI circuit. Everything needs to be disconnected. Test whatever you disconnect because I have had sensors short causing the EFI fuse to blow.

Well be much easier to get help if you list what year your truck is. You can add it to you avatar
Folks are already giving information for a 1FZ and it looks like a 3FE to me.
And welcome to mud !!

It is a 3FE, which I knew, and he does have "1992 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80" in his sig. I don't know the harness routing on the 3FE, but I pointed out there is a routing issue on the 1FZ-FE.
