Decided to address a couple lagging issues with my interior redo; needed new dash vents, fix center panel "D" light, and replace the tarnished clear lens cover. Still waiting on my restored steering wheel with new leather (temporary wheel shown).

Everything back together with new panel lens, working "D" light, new ignition switch, and new dash vents along with showing off some of the new interior redo (new carpeting with sound deadening installed throughout including doors and fenders, new Scheel-Mann seats with reupholstered 2nd row seats to match, new reupholstered door panels with new door cards and door locks, reupholstered center console and door leathers to match seats, new leather shifter handle, new Kenwood stereo/CD system with tilt screen, front/rear cameras, and speakers, and new Rosen visors):

I rolled out of NW Arkansas this morning planning on making it to MS or NW Alabama today but trailer bearings had another idea. Over 1800 miles thus far on this trip and the 80 just rolls right along.

Finally done. Steering feels completely different than before and super tight, no more pump moaning, no more oil on the floor.

I figured out why I couldn't get the cooler to fit. The steering stabilizer bracket was incorrectly installed and was in front of the frame rail

Don't mind the zip ties, I'm going to do some drilling and tapping this weekend.

I have the same cooler setup and works great for me too...maybe the tight steering was in part to the f'd up stabilizer mounting?!?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that a P.O. did that for you...

Good morning! While I have the engine out I’m replacing anything that needs it and is now very easy to get to. I’m definitely a “while you’re in there” kinda guy and no better time than the present while waiting for the engine to be rebuilt. FYI to anyone that hasn’t changed out their steering box, I’d suggest getting the U-joint that couples the shaft to the box. Mine is quite tired and wasn’t that easy to remove even w/ the engine out.

I don't see the foundation anchored, make sure you anchor it somehow or that thing well take off. There will be a lot of wind load on the side of it.

The 4x6 base it’s attached to is quite heavy plus I have 9) 2’ long steel form stakes driven into the ground at opposing angles.

Rigged out with 4x4 labs bumpers, new oem plugs, wires, cap, and button. Built a baseplate for my fridge/drawers, mounted a ceiling rack, and mounted my air compressor.

Got new tires for my '97 on Wednesday. On Saturday took the rig on a freeway run along with some mountain roads. Alas did not find any mud test the tires in.

Marlin was a living legend among Toyota 4x4 fans, wrenching on rigs, creating new products for off-road use, and being a huge supporter of the community.

The fact that Mr. Czajksowski has not already been made a member of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is shocking, considering how well known, and well thought of he is in the Toyota off-road community. I urge you to induct Marlin into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2024.

Is this your first set of the Yokohama Geolandar MT? I have them and love them, very quiet for a MT even after they wear down. Looking at getting another set either 315/75-16 or move on up to 37s.

Finally got around to installing the @northwest Trails Innovations rear bumper for my 80. Hardest part was lifting it myself but lucky Harbor Freight had a lift cart that was a game changer. Need to add some spacers for the spare tire carrier, doesn’t sit far enough back and rattles.
