LOOK AT THE ANGLE OF THE JACK STAND ON THE FRONT AXLE ! ! !
Alright, to be fair I was never under the rig in this configuration, and fixed for pulling 3rds. Also bought 2 more 6 ton stands. It's all good, he has the tire under the rocker panel.....
I do the same, rather crush the tire/rim than a body part. I am paranoid when under the vehicle, got some nice 4x4s to stick under it now in addition to the stands.Alright, to be fair I was never under the rig in this configuration, and fixed for pulling 3rds. Also bought 2 more 6 ton stands.
I always move tires to either side of whatever area I will be working on, so when working on knuckles one tire in under front bumper frame and one under rocker panel/frame at least will improve survival if a jack stand fails.
Are you able to post PNs or a screenshot. This is a much needed upgrade for many. ThxSweet...where did you get that unit? I bet you can actually see the lights now. Mine seem to be only visible at night.

Yeah, I had overlooked the jack stand angle. Appreciate the criticism and wouldn't have changed it without it. Thinking about it a bit more and looking at stands and its clear that they would be weak to any torsion on the extentable portion of stand. So without being perp to the load the axle wants to force the extension to fully contact the axle, torquing it. Things I never listened to/I do the same, rather crush the tire/rim than a body part. I am paranoid when under the vehicle, got some nice 4x4s to stick under it now in addition to the stands.
