Congratulations!

Sorry about the LX. You'll get back to it in about 15 years........
I bought mine around lunch. Was headed to the hospital before dinner. My daughter was born the morning after. I think I really drove it the first time about five months later.

I’ve put three thousand miles on it since then?

But congratulations!! Love the Cruiser shot bringing the family home for the first time.

So, your daughter is 12 YO now?

Finally fixed my hood struts (only took 5 1/2 years)
Next is the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, wires (you can see in the pic it is pretty bad)

Seats are amazing first day was breaking them in a bit, second day was amazing. Felt way better putting in miles and hours.

Yeah, these suckers are a labor of love. I look at what equivalent money would buy in a built jeep/ tundra/ whatever and sometimes question my sanity buying an old rig that needs all kinds of stuff replaced that I wouldn't even think about on a newer vehicle. Not to mention you can actually find stuff for newer vehicles much more easily.

I'm invested now though. I'd get maybe $0.30 on the dollar for what I have invested if I sell it. I think I actually need to get some more space and build a trail rig that I won't feel bad rubbing on trees or snapping parts and keep the 80 for more touring and light off roading.
80s are a more solid option when wheeling in really remote places. They don't break as easily as the other options.

few questions:

1. Is there a 12v vehicle wiring for dummies book / blog post that someone would recommend?

2. Has anyone tried any of the windshield products that will supposedly buff out / "fix" scratches / streaks?
It would appear the PO used the wipers sand in / under the blades, and has left some streaks on the windshield.

Safelite Auto Glass.

If there are scratches from sand, then it's pretty much replace.

I bought a 2007 Camry from the NY and FL area and both homes were right on the beach. The windshield is ground into an arc pattern from the wipers. Daytime is OK, but nighttime, in the rain is a beaotch.

I've noticed lately that my 96 LC has a very pitted windshield. I'm going to replace it.

It appears to be quite light, I think it was all recent, I do not thing this lived at the beach.
Glass polishing pad without a cushion on a DA and Griot's glass polish work well in my experience
Will give this a try, and see how it goes

Does the ceramic coating keep the farts outta the spendy seats?!?

Nice work as always. 👍

Congratulations, I brought both of my kids home in the cruiser.
My first kid was very nearly born in ours! I bet you could swab the passenger seat now 10 years later and still get DNA. Terrifying morning that was
