My first kid was very nearly born in ours! I bet you could swab the passenger seat now 10 years later and still get DNA. Terrifying morning that was

Seats are amazing first day was breaking them in a bit, second day was amazing. Felt way better putting in miles and hours.
I've been very tempted to upgrade to those seats, what are your initial impressions?

@BillyGoatMTB
The new seat is awesome! I was in the seat for 12 hours on Sunday, 10 hours Saturday. Never felt better, there is a break in period so looking forward to them getting better.

I still haven't powered up the heaters yet!

Will be interested to see what you do for the heaters. It’s on my list to do!

The scheel-mann seats came with heaters. I need to power them and mount the switch.

Snow/mud wheeling.

I ran up on a well built lifted Ford, he was stopped in front of a giant long mud puddle and was nervous to go through.

I wanted to say hi but my window motors are old and I was afraid the passenger wouldn’t roll back up. Hahaha. It was about 28’ F.

I splashed through it and he followed afterwards.

Fun weekend.

If OEM heated seats are in place(JDM alcantra seats) can't the existing switches be used?

From what I have read the Landcruiser has the wiring... but not the LX450...
Factory installed heaters sounds way better than new cushions, leather, and heater kit

I got a derale cooler in today for the power steering unit (there is now a black ano one from the factory (Derale 13280)
On the fittings that came with it, I put some Permatex® High Temperature Thread Sealant, 6 ML - https://permatex.com/products/thread-compounds/thread-sealants/permatex-high-temperature-thread-sealant-6-ml/ on the fitting except for the first ~4 threads or so.

Was this a questionable idea?

That hgh temp thread permatex is good stuff. It shouldn't hurt anything.

I'm curious if you noticed an old to new seat weight difference? I've contacted the manufacturer and am now in the process of convincing myself to pull the trigger.
