I’ve owned 2, 4WD Tacomas and 2 Outback’s in my life, none of those vehicles compare to how sure-footed the 80 felt on snowy, and slick roads. Very happy.

Happy New Year!!
I tried doing donuts first winter when I got the 80. Disappointing experience haha

Happy new year y'all!

Quick snow day and lunch

Getting some BMW E46 sport powered/heated seats put in this week. Already got my Toyota heated switches ready to install.

FYI - Planted brackets don't quite work with E46 seats, found that out the hard way. Getting custom brackets made for them.

Plus, it was an excuse to visit my buddy's race shop and drool over BMW race cars...

What switches did you go with?

And any Bimmer shots? 😄

Got some Toyota ones off ebay.

Here are some drools - the white E30 M3 on the left has an S54 swap going in. Oooooffff.

Went out with the Washington Offroad Recovery Network (WORN) on Friday to rescue a broken Tundra up a FS road. Took about 3 hours total to extract him from the ditch, remove the broken components, fit a ski and slide him down the mountain. Great group of guys - If you're in WA State I highly recommend you join the WORN Facebook group. If you're ever epically stuck and can't get out, they'll come and rescue you with their volunteers.

Tundra was on 37s. Ended up getting slingshotted sideways into the ditch pulling a buddy out. When his group tried to pull the Tundra out backwards, the wheel in the ditch wrenched against the hill, snapped the lower control arm and broke the axle. We removed the LCA, broken axle, steering heim and brakes. Strapped a 4x6 under what was left of the lower ball joint and dragged him down the mountain. The whole set up worked pretty well.

Decided snow wheeling was fun and went out Saturday to find some deep stuff. Truck worked well, but I definitely need beadlocks so I can get down to 4psi if I want to hang with these guys. The Jeep on aired down 40" Iroks definitely made me feel lacking.

About 12" to 30" of snow depending how high we were up the mountain. It's been cold, so the snow was pretty dry - Hadn't turned into Cascade Concrete yet.

Looks a bit like Harrison Motorsports. I miss my Spec E30 and E90 M3 :frown:

I’ve been on the hunt for some Oak switches myself. Want to put in place of the coin holders.
LOL it's actually Harrison's new shop. He sold HMS a few years ago, he's up in Cumming now.

A week or so's worth of searching and I don't remember seeing any oak colored switches. So, in the dash they go.

Introduced my new to me LS powered 60 to my 80. For some reason they look like RC trucks in this photo.

Small world. I used to be in the Peachtree CCA when I lived in Atlanta. “Helped” a buddy with an E30 swap at Harrison’s once upon a time.
There are a few of us old Bimmerforums guys on here. I used to autocross and go on mountain runs now and then with my E36.

Where was this? I was stationed in Bremerton and went up into the Olympic Mountains a lot when it snowed.

Went to install my new ASFIR rear bumper this morning...low and behold it requires 4 OEM bolts from the bracket to the frame...bolts I got rid of. Anyone know what size bolts those would be?
