No. MT's are garbage when it comes to wintery road conditions. They are fine in the woods, but are horrendous on roads with snow and ice. They don't stop worth a damn.
Guess I'm glad I don't live in those conditions.

Upgraded my driving lights with Ironman 4x4 Meteor Lights with DRL...

Trying to install a pioneer AVIC head unit. Very frustrating process of trying to buy the right harness from Amazon.

As an aside, anyone know what this orphan connector is in the back corner of the radio spot in my ‘97 LC? Is it for an LX stereo system?

Use crutchfield or a local store and not amazon then.

My 9 year old asked about the ash trays.

Son: dad what are these?
Me: ash trays.
Son: for what( no one he's been around really smokes)
Me: for people's cigarettes.
Son: but kids sit back here, they smoke?
If he’s anything like me as a child in an 80 he’ll learn it’s an excellent spot to cram candy wrappers until it turns into a massive sticky mess to never be dealt with. Sorry mom and sorry to the family 80 series

metra 70-1761 Used in like all 90s toyota trucks, I've probably ordered 15 of these over the years. they also fit many oem switch harness connectors.

Looks like a plug for an accessory light like for the ashtray or 12v plug.

I've driven my g003's in snow and ice a few times and would certainly not call them horrendous. You definitely need to drive smart, but I had no complaints. I run them right around 30lbs in winter.

We don't get a ton of snow here but more than enough to get a chance to develop an opinion

I get really good traction in snow/ice with my Toyo ATII's. Soon I'll have some R/T's for the 80 but I'm not keeping it. I already have a SA 4Runner and a GX that I daily.

Mt's are the worst tire you can use in snow. The tire compounds are way to hard. Snow tires have much softer rubber.
Not sure I completely agree - MTs work great in fresh snow or deep slush, but they're awful on ice or compact snow. Could always get a set of MTs siped, but it kills their lifespan. Only really seen guys running 40s+ do that because there's limited other options.

Put the snow shoes on. Wish I could find some 35" snow tires.

I see a lot of guys running Duratracs when they're looking for taller tires on a winter vehicle. Used to see the oilfield service vehicles on them in northern Alberta and they seemed fairly capable, though I've heard the sidewalls are susceptible to slicing in the rocks.
