if you can get 9011 with 65 W 10 W brighter than what you haveDid a quick little headlight bulb upgrade. Bought some sylvania 9012 HIR2 bulbs to replace the stock 9006. Trimmed a little bit of the tab like I read the headlight thread about this, i hope I didnt miss something and don’t need to change anything else too like new wiring or something.
Seems all good so far
In the first pic i have just the drivers side swapped out. Def can notice the difference…and when i took it for a quick spin i def noticed it shine further out too. I hated having the super white brighter ones. Thank you ih8mud.

Did a few “small” things to the 97 in last couple day
1- gamiviti seat gear driver and passenger
2- installed fixators in the door checks, sooo much better now, doors dont fly open all the way and stop Where needed
3- weather strips / headliner strips , it’s actually quite inside now
4- autozone duralast charcoal canister vc120 , but quality
5- installed CDL switch

Had it towed for service, but along the way the tow truck lost control of it. Now it's sitting in the Toyota service lot while the body shop is 3 months out. I'm looking for the next best thing. Insurance will pay about 4290 but finding someone to do the work well and find the parts will be hard. Grill, bumper, hood, lights, paint..probably more. The parking brake was limp when I tried to set it. I realized that I haven't seen the other 80 series I used to see in town in a long time. If anyone knows a place in Eugene, Oregon, let me know. Kind of a sick feeling...These rigs are such beauties...
Insurance paid me $10,200.00 for my totaled 91 with 290,000 miles a year and a half ago. You better get more than $4290.00!!!!!!
Don't roll over or take the first insurance offer, especially with a tow truck company being at fault.

Ok, here we go. Was with a group of Jeeps out in Big Bear last weekend. While climbing the 1st obstacle at Dishpan, i heard some rubbing noise coming from the front of the engine bay...the noise was far too familiar, and as i get to top of the obstacle, i pop the hood and immediately noticed coolant all over the engine bay and dumping down from the bottom. The top of the fan shroud was missing a large chunk and the fan blades were damaged. The fan caught the top of the shroud, chewed off a large chunk of the plastic and put a large gouge between the top tank and the fins along the top....removed the fan clutch and broken shroud and the damage became apparent. the tubes were separated from the top tank all across the top middle portion and it was leaking out as fast as the water was poured in. I completed the rest of the trail pretty much with a dry engine, dumping water in every chance i get, and called AAA at the nearest gas station in town. Long story short, a cheap piece of plastic took out my Ron Davis Radiator. So lesson learned, replace the fan shroud if it is cracked or damaged. I have yet to confirm if it was a broken engine mount causing the engine to move up, but i had just replaced both of my front engine mounts and tranny mount not long ago prior to my trip to the Rubicon back in Aug. This is a costly $1500 repair that could have been avoided.....I will confirm if i have a loose engine mount or broken mount once i gathered enough courage to look at the rig again and start the repair process while waiting for the new Ron Davis to be delivered with a 8-10 weeks lead time...
