Got a Tacoma muffler from a 2019 TRD for free. Hopefully taking it to the muffler shop next Saturday to get it installed on my 94 Fzj80. This thing is huge so hopefully it fits. The muffler shop said they would try so fingers crossed it works.
Son and his buddies going light wheeling/camping next weekend and asked about sleeping in the 80 vs a tent...so we built a basic sleeping platform for his truck.
Apparently three is a crowd so one of these gals needs to go. Keep Molly the white '94 or keep Lenny the black '96. Molly is a complete build and Lenny is stock an would allow me to correct all my previous errors ... decisions decisions

Traveling down the rabbit hole isn't as easy as it used to be, what with all these backorders and supply disruptions. There was a small token in the mail today though. Saw someone recommending this here on Mud somewhere. Impressive stuff.

Both are rust free. I did the head gasket on each - and could still see crosshatch marks on the cylinder walls of both. My guess is the airbags are of equal effectiveness.
I'm thinking the 96 could take a turbo the 94 not so much.
The 94 has taken me to 33 states in the US. Hard to let that just go but who knows what the 96 would see.
The 96 would allow me to start fresh with a build project but who wants a black truck in a hot state.
Tough decisions.

My question was going to be which has less rust but if they are both clean then I'd pick the '96. Lots to be said about having the most evolved version of the 80. I am on 80 "build" #2 and I think there is a lot to be said about learning from your first mistakes, but you have to up for it - lots of work and lots of $$$. Definitely not for light wallets.

I’d never pick a black cruiser over a white one. I’d probably keep the white one even if it had a 3fe.
Fitted the new 4core radiator. Salvage yard tomorrow for an electric fan. Added some Run Cool hood louvers too. I want the LS running around 200 not 210+.
Spray painted and installed new sunroof garnish. I put some 3M rubber tape on the inside to see of that will help with any rattle.
What size are those?
