I found out my 2” slee bump stop extenders were not cutting it for my 2” ironman lift and 37’s when stuffing a rear tire. I took a little damage to my rear driver side rear fender on the initial flex test. I had some square 1” tube laying around so I made some spacers. I don’t have a welder or welding skills, so I wasn’t able to enclose or box them. This will have to do for now. I was able to source some longer metric bolts at my local Lowe’s Hardware store. I think the bolt size was 8.125 x 100? On my follow up test it seems to be enough to make the difference and clear both my rear fenders on full flex now.

Nice! I've been debating 37s when i get new tires (also on a 2" lift) but don't want to regear ha. Looks good.

Not sure where you live but, I’m on stock gears and live at sea level. I don’t really deal with hills. It’s not that bad. I did just order gears to take advantage of the nitro gear sale otherwise I wasn’t in a rush to re-gear. I plan On hitting long roads trips Otherwise I could have chilled in stock gears for a while

At sea level as well and just installed a turbo. Gearing concern was more about crawling ability.
How has it been clearance wise running 37s on a 2" lift? What is your wheel size/offset? Read a bunch of threads on low lift/big tires (which i'm a fan of) but haven't seen any good definitive info on it.

These 37’” KM3’s are actually 36.5” tall according to BFG website. I haven’t actually measured my tires. I had a tiny bit of rubbing when turning into a driveway @ the back of the front wheel wells. My BFH took care if that. My BB wheel offset is 3.5” backspacing.
I’m pretty happy with it. I had 35’s before and I just needed more.

Early weekend, so a few little things done already.

*Full de-smog. EGR, pump, vacuum lines, etc.
*De-carbed the intake and throttle body.
*Cleaned the injectors, and new o-rings.

One short run around the block after letting it idle to fully warm. Certainly more power than before. I have no O2's, so things are still a bit rich for my liking, but still progress was made.

Nothing too crazy. Changed my drive belts. Love the sound of the 1FZ on new belts. Thanks Absolute Wits End for keeping us supplied.

This is my third belt change. The first one is when I bought the truck 3 years ago. I pulled the engine so naturally, I replaced belts with oem. Last year, installed photoman’s alt bracket to retrofit the 150 amp alt and used gates belts. They have always been noisy after a few thousand miles, it just sounded like crap. Went back to oem. Love the sound (Or lack-there-of).

Into the great wide open again finally! She got demoted 5 months ago when I got my new job and is no longer my DD:frown: (130 miles RT). Luckily with social distancing I got to take the old friend out into the field cause we don’t have enough work rigs (1 per vehicle). I took the opportunity to side trip into the upper watershed; rare habitat where chinook Salmon and steelhead trout actually make it all the way to the base of Mt. Lassen. Wildflowers galore and complete solitude. Exercised the winch (maintenance), ran Lo, got muddy, and made fresh tracks on trails I’d never been before.

Tackled a few small things this week. I've been plagued for years by how to store my cross style lug wrench that I carry in the truck. These things suck because they don't sit flat and they're an awkward shape. I was working on something else the other night and noticed a few scrap brackets I had taken off of something else a while ago and a lightbulb when off. I used them to make 4 little half moon brackets. I welded some bolts to the back ones studs and use the other two with some wing nuts to hold the lug wrench. Added it to the backside of the spare tire on the carrier and now the stupid wrench has a spot that it's not causing me grief.

Now that I have a tilt slide for the fridge, I put the attic rack back in the truck too.

Love the idea with the "X" wrench

Nice, how do you like the 3" of uptravel you now have?

Packed up all our personal stuff and did a big ol' caravan move from New Mexico to Montana. 3 days straight of towing up the unending mountain grades of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and finally Montana made me pretty proud of the truck, but holy crap is it exhausting. Pretty sure I exceeded the max tow raing of my 80, and I can't imagine having done so with the stock petrol motor.
