Used to live in SD for a long time and tho I was a only Tacoma man at the time, I found all kids of crap to get into out there east of there and in San Bernardino, N Idywylld area, Joshua tree, Anza Borego and all that..... I miss all of it intensely. Hopefully headed back out that way to live in a year and a half, so much to see out there.

Finally found and bought a deep cycle battery that’s the right size for the second battery trey. Now the second battery, solar and rear quarter panel project can finally start in earnest.....after like 2 years sitting in the garage.

Lots if terrible noises coming fron the engine on the way home. Barely made it up the last hill into the driveway. Contemplating options, drop a motor in, rebuild?

My son thought it was a good place to tie off a hammock while up in the foothills. Funny how fast life come full circle! Wasn’t that long ago I was in his shoes telling my dad what I had done to his truck after a night in the mountains with friends. Where is the best place to pick up a replacement. I can’t seem to find this part on the Toyota dealership parts websites. This is the right rear luckily the screws didn’t rip out!

I think the first option should be to diagnose the issue - it could be something simple and cheap. If it does end up being an internal engine issue, diagnosis would still be required before anyone could legitimately tell you the best route to take.

I will be getting rid of my factory roof rails, PM me we can work something out!

• Rear brake pads replaced
• Front O2 sensor gasket replaced. Nothing like spending a few hours on your back carefully cutting through 10 yr old rusty nuts to humble you (or mentally move the lift up higher on the garage wish list ). In the end I filed the nuts off, ran a die over the studs, replaced the gasket, and was good to go.

Moved round bales for the horses with the old' cruiser.

Not sure if I make record time but from wheel on to cleaned axle housing 1.5 hours. Including bearing races out. Too many rags to count. Order parts tomorrow and put it together later in the week. Left side similar to right, busted top trunnion bearing. Still held together but separated upon removal.

The 80 just sat and watched from inside the garage. No go to get out of town, but it did give me a chance to add the solar to the teardrop along with starting the rework of the galley. Pulled the stove/oven combo and will be adding drawers and a slide out for the new stove.

Not me, still waiting on random parts of my ARB rear bumper to ship from the vendor, my spare is currently hoggin all my rear cargo storage. I’d say you might’ve taken a wrong turn, I wouldn’t describe it as tame, but that’s of course a subjective opinion.

I have a desk drawer full of old paper roadmaps and my goal is to eventually wallpaper the inside of a teardrop camper with them. So far, all I have is the drawer ...

It looks like your using good tools, I am sure that helps speed the job up. Those snap on hammers are very well designed

'Lseat' leather seat install done. I added seat heaters as well as cut out the dead foam where you get in and out of the truck on both seats and glued in some high density foam. I haven't mounted the switches or done the wiring yet. This was time consuming enough.

3 hour drive this morning, to get the replacement Lexus. 1 year newer, and 80k less miles, than my previous LS. Equipped exactly the same
