Went down to the Big Sur area on the California coast (thanks @indycole for the route guidance!) and checked out some trails in the national forest.

While coming around a bend on the trail at maybe 20 MPH, I saw this guy in the middle of the trail. Given the trees and shrubs on both sides of the trail and not enough distance to brake, I passed over the top of rattler and luckily it was safe.

3 years after starting the rocker chop/high clearance slider adventure on the driver's side I can now say the project is complete! Enlisted the help of a great local shop (Stellar Built) owned by MUD member @eurosonic and these guys did an awesome job.

I knew the passenger side would be a challenge because of the cats and even more so because I ran the whole exhaust outside the frame. The guys at Stellar Built made the slider so that it matched what I did on the driver's side but went all out on the cat/exhaust protection. Made a beefy removable 3/8" skid plate to protect the cats. The skid plate is just about flush with the frame & cross member. No concerns with bashing up my exhaust now.

Oh and they also installed my 3.11 tcase gears that I've had sitting on the shelf for 2 years. I'm not the quickest at finishing up projects as you can probably tell

Very nice work. Does CA keep you from using a 105 exhaust manifold and routing the exhaust inside the frame rails?

Not sure of current conditions but in 2016 when I was there, it was open all the way through.

Covered a fare bit of ground over the past week. Spent 3rd &4th July doing the Kokopelli trail and the "Top of the (free - it was 4th july) World" trail in Moab.

Struggled against the wind along Route 50 but managed to avoid the temptation of Sevier Lake salt flats..

Finished the day in a nice secluded camp site.

Finally feeling like I'm getting to know my way around this truck a bit. Still more to do, but another huge baselining hurdle is cleared.

Damn, I gotta try that to see if it works with my wife.

That trail never gets old. I think I have photos of me laying on the edge and peering over that span a couple decades and many different rigs. Best is when the birds get pissed and dive bomb any visitors to the lookout spot.

I never looked into it, do both cats still fit inside the frame rails? Would be tough to do on mine because of the upper link mount that sits in that spot.

I have only seen it done with one heavyduty cat

Repaired my washer fluid bottle and installed new washer fluid pumps. Also attempted painting the center shifter console.

Hey guys, I'm about to pick up some new wheels for my '92 what backspacing should I go with? The rims are 17x9, and will most likely be mounting 37's on them with an 4" lift. Would like them to stick out a little bit, but not much. A million thanks in advance for all the help and advice!

4.5" BS would centered... 3.5" BS would stick out a bit more.

It's the brand name of his/her roof rack. Installed one on a friend's Taco a few weeks back.

Nice paint on that rig though!!
