Was ready to pull the trigger on some Taco take offs (see pic a few posts above) when a buddy/business partner of mine called me. Said he has a buddy with a 2003 Hundy with a blown motor that I can have for stupid cheap. Cali rig with 130k+/- miles on it. Clean and rust free. I tel him “sure, why not?!”

Then I ask him if he has any Taco/4Runner wheels laying around his shop/lot. His response “how about some Sequoia wheels? They’re in the bed of a ford out back. You can have them if you want them. They’re a little rough.”

I guess “a little rough” depends on interpretation. Time to bust out the rattle can...

You bought a 100 series?? The transformation has been completed. You officially can no longer call yourself a 3fe tank pisser.

For my wife or daughter. You don’t think I’d actually drive a Hundy?!?!?

Not if a woman is driving it!
"For my wife or daughter..."

Sure, that's what they all say. Before you know it you'll slowly begin driving it more and more, you'll tell yourself you just like the extra power, nothing wrong with your 80's you say, you're just 'switching it up a bit.' Then, before you know it, the 80's will be in the background, your steaks will be replaced with chicken breast, your workboots will slowly turn into penny loafers, and you will be paying someone to mow your lawn.

Don't say you weren't warned, Mr. Bahama.

I’ve already been down this road. Owned a 2003 new. It was my wife’s. I drove my 80, without AC, no radio.

I don’t drive Hundys. Full stop.

Picked up a ‘97 moon rock yesterday. It has the magic dial, non-running, 320,000 miles. Hasn’t been driven in a few years. Supposedly blew a rod, Not sure which way we are going to go with it yet. Part it out, rebuild, swap axles? Just happy it has the magic dial.

Do a proper diagnosis on it. It probably has a bad set of plug wires or something.......

I built this handy dandy little shelf to set my butane stove on. Simple, but useful.
