What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (52 Viewers)

Got my dual battery setup up and running, but I broke the switch mount so I need to fix that. I also put some leds in the rear bumper and got my Prinsu rack installed. Love the rack and it was fairly easy to install with all the writeups on here. I used the wedge washers to make up for the angle and I bolted them down a little different than what others have done. I just cut about an inch off of every bolt and screwed them in from the top. That way there isn't extra long threads hanging out. It doesn't have the redundancy of a double nut, but I think it'll hold. I'll keep an eye on it and it it gets loose I'll use some loctite.

Looks great. I like the single bolt approach

I had taken the front seats to the white 80 to get recovered by a local guy using front Lseat covers I recently bought. He called me two days ago and said he couldn't do them for me, soooo it looks like I'm doing them myself. I have a Land Cruiser Heaven set for my Collectors' 80 that have been waiting forever to get put on. I should be a pro by the time I'm done with both rigs. I am going to take the opportunity to do a side by side comparison of the two sets while I can as well. I did the drivers seat with a new oem foam bottom last night. It went pretty quick really. Came out pretty well. I did the Bisque color on the leather and thread.

It looks like the color is off but it matches the unworn areas of the original seat (underneath) very well.

You meet at Staples?? I bet you guys secretly brag about your mods in a different forum. "I just built a set of drawers for my portable Canon printer and file boxes." "Ohh! Did you make room for the scanner too? How did you run your charging cables?"

Land Cruiser nerds unite! #IH8CHEAPINK

Joking aside, great cruisers though! It looks like a good time.

 I thought the same thing when I looked at the pic after I took it. We actually meet at Mike's BBQ next door. Pulled pork sandwiches and .

Mojave Rd? Run into any more cruisers out there? A few of the folks from here were taking it on their way to Moab.

I ran the 95% of the Mojave Road and the only Toyotas I saw was a FJC at the begining and a 4runner.
Went to most of the popular sites and a couple rarely visited.

Beautiful pics! How do you like those RTT's? Do you leave them on your rigs all the time?

Are you located near placerville? I love the national forest up 50 towards Tahoe.
Love the tents. Gets us out of the food chain. My rig isn't a daily driver so it's on there all the time.

Wife's Rig just out of the paint shop. Some minor changes from stock, removed the accent color, changed mirror color, antenna and added a couple of badges and removed one. Once the black bumpers and running boards are on the base color will really pop.

Reminded me of my solo trip through mojave, the quietness is incredible. Beautiful place and vast, only saw 2 vehicles on a holiday weekend.

Beautiful yes, but the area is lacking in 4wd opportunity where 99.8% can be done in 2WD including the new soft closed part. I only needed 4wd on the pictured hill (bypass available) and the water crossing.

I actually missed that section and was looking for it. I agree it's just a scenic drive for anything with descent ground clearance. Although depends on which path you take in the wash the sand could be VERY soft.
