I live in Niceville. Looks like your right down the road from me. I'm relatively new to the area. Are there any good wheeling spots?
There are a couple spots. Welcome to the area. We'll have to meet up sometime.

Fixed things.....

and then proceeded to break the very things I fixed..... kill me please.

Done for the day before I break something else that's currently working.

Found some New Year's Eve mud with my BF. We got to show my visiting sister and brother in law a bit of Oahu's interior mountains. Really muddy and slick from a lot of rain lately, but a very beautiful part of the island.

this past summer I taught my boys the fine art of opening up the doors to act as a stall on the side of the HWY :poof:
Funny, it was a girlfriend that showed me the advantage of owning a 4-door. And a coffee can.

How about a five year old pissing out the window and laughing as its freezing faster than he can piss. Off roading memories!

Oh my goodness, there are two of you!

Headed up to Linville Gorge wilderness area for a hike and night in the mountains friday.

Hiked back out and hit a newer fun funky local brewery, Fonta Flora, in Morganton to load up some brews to celebrate the new year with
IMG_9669.JPG

Wheeled a couple hours of pitch dark forest service roads to camp, ended up going all the way through wilson creek wilderness area to a spot somewhat closer to civilization due to the winds ripping through the blue ridge last night and knowing the chainsaw was at home

Woke up this am and cooked a new years breakfast and java on the tailgate and mapped out the day..... looking for dotted lines in the delorme back roads atlas

And departed for Boone NC via a County "road" that proved fun and more challenging than expected.

All in all a great way to ring in the new year. Wishing everyone a great 2017 to come...... now get out and enjoy the hidden gems local to you.

I added a foxwing awning to the roof rack. The awning is HUGE and should provide excellent shade from the southern summer sun.

Looks like a good weekend trip.

That looks great Jonathan! Freeman park shade palace.

Is that the foxwing or the fauxwing from the recent group order? And have you cut your rear crossmember off and not added a bumper? I eouldnr get too adventurous before reinforcing that one way or another (seems i read a 4x4 labs is in the works soon)

Ha, was reminded of you actually both going and returning as i passed a trail opening ceremony for a new mtb run at W. Kerr Scott resevior off 268 in wilksboro and passed the rocky knob mtb park in boone coming home. Keep meaning to make a two wheel trip up that way also

Looks like a good weekend trip.

It was awesome! A simple and quiet intro to 2017

Only feel slighty guilty after reading @MDarius experience for traveling solo as i was aware of the risk and reconsidered for a while before committing.

I do know the area well, had plenty of food/water/clothes and its nowhere near as remote as beef basin. However some of the locals houses might just make me keep walking till i found town :hillbilly:

This is the fauxwing from the Group Buy. For the price, it is amazing.

Building the 4x4 labs bumper is taking me forever. I want everything to be tight with an exact 1" clearance from the body. The Jerry can holder was chopped up to make it fit the cans really tight and prevent movement. It should be ready for cleanup and paint soon.
