Installed newly restored seat belts from SeatBeltPlanet.com. Overhauled the drivers seat mechanism. Installed complete Stage 3 Icon 3" lift. Bolted up a set of 35's on 17" beadlocks. Cleaned a blocked diff breather. Got hella greasy. Spent some quality time in the garage with my daughter. Oh, and ate half my body weight in turkey.

Hell no! But over the years I haven't always been there when my tires get replaced or rotated.
Can't be held responsible for the shortcuts taken by others

ooh. theyre pretty, look like OEM but split Rim.. what are they?

I've had my 1991 for a week. More catching up on neglected service/maintenance items:

Brake bleed/flush - nasty stuff came out of passenger rear. Never seen a brake line so bad...

Front Diff oil - there was not much in there...

Moly in the birfs (from the top, sandwich bag style) - not much in there, either. Went thru 2 tubes of grease (the bag method is pretty wasteful, mind you). Will add more.

I've got a soup issue on the driver's side, so I'm likely tearing that apart. But discovered a very blocked diff breather when adding/checking the oil. Pressure had nowhere to go but out the seal. Cleaned the top hat and re-installed. So maybe the axle seal will leak less now. Will be keeping an eye on that.

Complete PO's part-donkey de-smog. He was running the short belt to bypass the air pump, but had left the EGR intact. I simply bb blocked the two vac lines on top of the throttle body - based on vac diagram and reading here, they are what runs the EGR. Truck is definitely less stumbly under acceleration up to 2000 rpm. Sounds better, feels better. I suspect the egr was badly clogged and not functioning properly. I haven't actually removed any of the smog system stuff, so I guess my approach is halfassed too.

Disconnected EGR temp sensor and connected the ECU side pins together. Hopefully that makes for goodbye CEL code 71. So far, so good.

Rear hatch crazyglue trick (replacement struts ordered).

1 million point lube (hinges, locks, u joints, prop shafts, cables, linkages etc)

Rubber protector on all rubber seals.

Rust guard inside door bottoms.

Phew. Productive weekend. And now back to the office with grease under my fingernails. :D

@midfat please update us with more pics once she's on her feet!

early will have the stubs in the front diff and female inner axles. late will accept spuds, but take the male axles. either work fine.

andrewtech or rallispec? have worked with both.

my wife and i run a small subaru shop for a living. seen all sorts of brilliance, and the requisite stupidity to balance it out.

if you ever get stuck where nasioc, you tube, or your locals can't get you thru, send me a pm and i'll help as much as i can.

80 content: still love it. can't get enough! rained here all day, still have water in the back, still need to seal up the window trim.

Yes! Early, because it has stubs. Funny how you forget some of the research you did when time passes.

Rallispec, they're about 20-30 minutes from me. Awesome to hear and thanks for the offer! Always good to have someone with experience to talk to, as the collective hive mind isn't always as reliable.

Got mine too, it's just sitting in the garage. Hopefully I'll have some time to install it this weekend.

Disassembled my dash to install my CB radio and couldn't get over how scratched up and dirty the inside of my gauge cluster was. Took off the face and cleaned it up with some headlight lense cleaner.

With the amount of work to disassemble and reassemble the dash and gauge cluster, I wish I had some nice LEDs to replace all the lights. Probably will never take it apart again

Not the weekend, but over the holiday week while visiting the in-laws in Utah, I got a chance to visit the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in SLC.

@cruiserdan was an incredibly gracious host/tour guide and really knows his stuff, obviously.

The amount of unicorn Land Cruisers here is almost overwhelming and I could have spent the entire day drooling and looking over the entire collection. The 30th anniversary 70 series cruisers were my favorite and made me extremely jealous that almost everyone in the world gets the 70's except us.

If you're ever in SLC, I cannot recommend the museum enough!
