NSS barrel connector:
Filled the male cavity with dialectric and adjusted the rubber boots

She now shifts and accelerates like dreams.:cheers::cheers:

Been chasing this problem around for at least 9 months now. Special thanks to @SUMMIT CRUISERS for spreading the word and the search function for finding said word.

@HAAANK I think there's potential that I have the same issue as you tracked down. You got a link and could you explain exactly what this solved? gracias

Found a few other options but this one I found amusing....no shade provided and the models look bored and irritated...

Very nice! Where is that? Only place I know that's 10000 feet is coyote flats and wow that's a lot of water.
Up Tioga pass...first pic was near June lake loop

Actually worked during the week nights on this but over last weekend I picked up a front axle from @Evilone with plans to swap axles entirely. Once I started removing more and more though it was clear that it would be easier to swap diffs.
View media item 46026View media item 46025So far have the P/S torn down enough to pull the axle out of the diff. This weekend I'll finish the other side and then remove the 3rd member.

Fwiw, I've been chasing a shifting issue for the past 9 months. Happened just after I went through a water crossing. Shuttered, stalled, then idled rough. Wouldn't hold an idle either, if left unattended it would stall out. Rpms at idle were between 2k and 4K. In addition, my cruiser would prematurely shift into third, basically shifting from 1st into 3rd. Not confidence inspiring when merging into traffic! Oh and ALL of this with no CEL. FFFFFFFF!!

So I tried new plugs, rotor, distributor cap, replaced both the battery and alt as it needed it anyhow, performed a Trans fluid exchange, cleaned the throttle body, discovered my fuel filter had been deleted...eventually took it to a shop to little avail.

Been lurking the forums extra hard these past few days looking for an answer and found this thread and a couple others where @SUMMIT CRUISERS suggested the culprit could be the NSS. I pulled mine apart re sat the rubber boots looked at the blades of the male end and they looked good, at which point, my heart sank a little. But I thought, " Eff it, it's open, time for some dialectric grease" I filled the cavity snapped it back together, took it for a drive, AND IT SHIFTED LIKE A DREAM!!

It's a bit early to claim victory but I'm feeling really optimistic.

Next step is to make a splash guard as my OEM has been missing for some time.

I'll try and add pictures this weekend. No promises though:)

Tailgate lids are almost complete and WILL go to the cutter next week for pricing. Waiting on new hinges to arrive to verify dimensions and set those.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll add you to the contact list when I know firm pricing.

Headed out for Colorado. Wanted to leave by noon, ended up rolling after 4:00. Just stopped to sleep at a rest area outside Iowa City. Nice being able to climb over onto the sleeping platform and crash. Maybe I should open my roof top tent here, probably wouldnt go so good.
I've gone about 400 miles and still don't need to stop for gas. The range the sub tank gives is great, gonna hurt at fill up time though

I wish kevin rowland did some land cruiser stuff on the weekends!!

I installed the new window felt @beno sent me and went for a drive.

Discovered a historic road and drove on it. Evidently, post Roman era, roads degraded until the Thurn und Taxis Princes decided to put in a road in the middle ages, between Regensburg and Nurnberg. It felt weird to add wear and tear on something this old, but several people were already driving it.

You were literally 20 min from me. I live just north of Iowa City. Holler on your way back if you need a place to crash or shower.
