Started operation rip out all the crappy tint - is there any easy way to strip that crap ? lol

If your wife has a garment steamer, or other kind of steamer, it works great to get that glue to release and not leave residue behind. Just get a corner started and blast behind the tint with steam, it just lets go and pulls off nicely.

I removed my ACSD four years ago roughly, and never addressed timing.

It was at 1.29 IIRC (which is still within FSM range), set it to 1.35 (top of range per FSM).

Where did you source the gauge contraption from? Is there somewhere you can direct me to read up on this and answer my own questions?

Gauge was from amazon. Tool is a factory SST, from Akella (warning: expensive for what you get).

If you google "1HD-T injection pump timing" or "1HZ injection pump timing" you should be able to find a few threads in the diesel section that address retiming the pump. It's a tight fit, I recommend getting some good quality 17mm flare nut tools to deal with the fuel lines. I think a 17mm crowsfoot would have been handy, I've since ordered one in case I ever need to remove the pump for service.

Nothing to the truck, but I did buy a new toy so I can work on the truck.

Pulled my rear diff out for a rebuild, what is going on with my wheel bearing grease? It's gone weird on one side. Have I had water in there somehow?

Looks like at least some water in there to me. Probably not gear oil contamination.. it'd just make the grease thinner, not whitish like that. If you want to repack the bearings should be able to reuse the inner hub seal if you are careful about how you remove it.

Old school blue windex. Sprayed on the inside it soaks through and breaks down the adhesive.. you can then just wipe it off with more windex and paper towels. Get a few rolls.

Ruins of the Lighthouse Church of God. Not much of an overland adventure venture, but a fun 600 mile round trip with some exploration mixed in. The place had about 12 bottles of 10W30 motor oil inside, too.
Cheers,
Aaron

Did some exploration of Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP with @Qball and family. Brought my daughter along for our annual Fathers Day camping trip. No distractions from TV, Ipads, laptops, Play Stations, etc. is good for the kid's and dad's spirit.

well my girl wanted roll up privacy curtains / bug screens for camping in the lx.... so she's making them out of a inner screen and outer screen ... it may be hokey , but may be cool ... we'll see once she makes them ! The advent of only cracking windows while sleeping is too stuffy ... so we'll see ! I think I'll just zip tie them to the hand holds to see ... will post again on this once their made ....

Picked up 4 10" Fox RR 2.0's from Down South Motorsports today. Can't wait to get them on and try them out.

I've been exploring a lot of the north fork. And the north fork of the north fork. And the east fork of the north fork. Serious awesomeness out there. Almost completely inaccessible.

Final prep for Rubithon.

Great looking header/exhaust system.
