When I showed my wife the fire extinguisher and mount upon my return from LA she chuckled. She also had giving me a hard time about carrying a medical kit in my rig.

When I sent her the pic this morning she responded "Good call on being prepared!" That's as big of a compliment as I'm going to get out of her...

Question for the experts. I have a 400 watt inverter. I want to use a crockpot in my 80 this weekend. It says it uses 312 watts. Does 400 watt mean 400 useable? Thanks.

And yes, I'm aware this is borderline "tech".

Started the injectors this morning

They where hell to figure out the trick to pulling these crusty bastards.View attachment 1233277
Definitely far too many kms overdue.

Got all six injectors out. Three crush washers at the bottom of the injector well's wouldn't budge.
After a few hours of struggling I admitted defeat, and called a tow truck to haul the rig over to a shop hoping those guys will have some mechanic wizardry that's above my level....

Slide hammer with a suitable bolt brazed on as an attachment, screw it in, couple of hits, out they pop

It doesn't say. But it does say that use over 80 watts should be clipped directly to the battery. Not worth the effort. I will just take my little propane burner and keep it warm on that.

Nah, I'm not quite in croc country, couple hours north and there's plenty around though

That's pretty much what the shop did. He had an extractor bolted onto a slide hammer. Still took him about an hour to do.

So today I finished doing my tune up, sparkplugs, wires, distributor seal, valve cover gasket and sparkplugs tube seal, throttle body clean and new gasket.
Unfortunately, when I removed the tube seal in sparkplug #6 I found tiny drops of coolant, not many like 3. But we all know what that means
How long can I drive it safely like this? , I'm getting a head in a couple of weeks so I can have the shop get it done and not loose time when I replace the hg, but I do need to go to work for 2 weeks.

Don't hand down a sentence of bad head gasket just yet - condensation under the valve cover is not uncommon, and is perfectly normal. I'm not saying the HG isn't bad, I'm just saying there are other possible explanations to check out as well.
