Don't hand down a sentence of bad head gasket just yet - condensation under the valve cover is not uncommon, and is perfectly normal. I'm not saying the HG isn't bad, I'm just saying there are other possible explanations to check out as well.

Thanks but I took a stick and shaked the coolant reservoir and you can see some oil floating too, not a lot but some.
On the other hand, my pick up got so much better with the tune up, it's amazing specially first gear, I thought it was under power since that's what everyone says here about 80s but it its much much more driveable now. The date on the old wires says 2000 the new ones say 2014 thou.

So today I finished doing my tune up, sparkplugs, wires, distributor seal, valve cover gasket and sparkplugs tube seal, throttle body clean and new gasket.
Unfortunately, when I removed the tube seal in sparkplug #6 I found tiny drops of coolant, not many like 3. But we all know what that means
How long can I drive it safely like this? , I'm getting a head in a couple of weeks so I can have the shop get it done and not loose time when I replace the hg, but I do need to go to work for 2 weeks.

There are many guys I know on here that have had similar issues as you that have used Bars Head Gasket and driven for a very long time. Years. Of course there are others that will say that if you do it you are an idiot. I've never used it personally. I think @NLXTACY and maybe @Qball used it. I believe there are a couple of guys that used it and are still running with it...

Haha I know I was searching into that and that's what I found, so now I'm in the dilemma, should I use it or not?

From what I have gathered, the people that are against it either a) used it a long time ago and it didn't work or b) have never used it and only heard other people's testimony.

My view is this, what do you have to lose?

Got my new hood struts and lift gate struts from @arcteryx aka CruiserYard.com. Excellent service once again. Cost effective and they work well. took me 10 minutes to install both sets. And now I don't have to use vice grips to hold up my hood while I'm dumping oil in it!

Was supposed to take the 80 on a short road trip for my son's baseball tournament but it got cancelled due to weather. Supposed to be cold tomorrow but I may brave the elements and replace the distributor o ring. Won't tackle the oil pump seal tomorrow as I forgot to order the screws from @Hornd. :bang:

Yup, both of us have used it. I got two years out of it and I think QBall is at one year.

Question for the experts. I have a 400 watt inverter. I want to use a crockpot in my 80 this weekend. It says it uses 312 watts. Does 400 watt mean 400 useable? Thanks.

And yes, I'm aware this is borderline "tech".

At 30+ amps make sure your vehicle is running the entire time

My #1 bypass hose gave out and overheated, HG started leaking right after. Used the 45 dollar version of Bar's HG fix with carbon fiber and hasn't lost a drop coolant yet! It has been almost 2 years and about 10k miles, don't even think about it anymore.

Dizzy O ring is super easy, 15 minutes as long as you mark/remember how the dizzy came out. Unfortunately by replacing it you are disabling the best active anti rust system on the 80.

Yeah, the baseball tournament got cancelled anyway. Was just going to use a propane burner to keep it warm. Next weekend off so I hope to have my solar panel hooked up and rocking and rolling going forward. Then I shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah, I watched the video from the Texas Know How guy (F%$& Texas!). Seemed pretty easy. I will knock it out and my Center Diff Switch replacement. Hopefully I can get my lockers working tomorrow!

So this is what I am going to do tomorrow. Going to see if I can solve the locker riddle as to why my lockers won't engage.

So I had similar issues a long while back. Flashes but not engaging, so I forgot and left the CDL on and all is sudden it engaged while driving, guess all the movements and vibration loosened up old crap that got it jammed. After a few more cycles it worked great after, so try just leave it on for a while until it decides to engage.

Ironically, I did this today. It was raining most of the day while I was driving around town. Our town is known for having crappy streets so I was hoping that it would pop loose. It didn't. I have a new switch and am going to install it tomorrow. Seems to be fairly easy to get to.

In preparation for a little off pavement exploring and overnight camping trip tomorrow I wired up my rear auxiliary BlueSea fuse panel. Hooked up the Edgestar and all is well. We'll have cold beer tomorrow! Also painted my used battery hold down and installed it.

Fan clutch was "drained" and refilled with 10k oil. I drained it for about 3 hours and only got maybe 1/3 of a Dixie cup out. I think it must have leaked out at some point. I kept filling through all 3 holes and rotating the body. It only held about 25ml? It's an Aisin. Feels like it has more resistance now. Tomorrow will be the test. I saw 215F climbing a logging road last weekend. Had me worried.
