What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (108 Viewers)

Found a good deal on Spectre cans at Costco. Picked up a few for me and some of the local TAC that will be venturing along the High Water Mark trail of the Arkansas Ozark mountains later this spring.

Took 2 carts like this to cover the TAC friends requests. Now we just need to figure out where we will strap them on.

I took my 40 and my teenage daughter drove the 80 down at big meat run in Disney Oklahoma for 4 days.

BY the end of the weekend she came to the conclusion we needed bigger offroad tires for the 80!

I was down early too and spotted you. Unfortunately I had snagged my inner flex brake line while stuffing the new 37's and therefore was passenger in a built 4runner and driver didn't want to chase you all down.

Go for 35's unless she's ready for big lift or lots of trimming and/or big bump stops.

Sooooooo Sears had a great deal on General Tire AT2 Grabbers for the 285/75R16 at $167 ea. So I pulled the trigger and said goodbye to my old street tires. I love mine. Just gotta realize they are slightly weak on the sidewalls. Not the end of the world, but a consideration, nonetheless.

I have a serious problem. My addiction is way beyond help now.

All new genuine studs cone washers and bolts. Got brand new spindles on too. Should be good for another 150k km!

Today, I received a box of U-bolts from McMaster-Carr for U-bolts I had ordered for my slider build.

Not normally something worth noting, but immediately after ordering them, I received a notice from "Tatania" that their credit card system lost my cc# and would I please send my cc# again.

I told them I'd changed my mind and to forget about the order; I'd source U-bolts elsewhere.

Today, a nice little box of U-bolts show up, with a separate invoice for $32. Hmmmm. So now I have a box full of U-bolts I don't need and an invoice. How nice. My first encounter with McMaster Carr = not a good one.

I've sent them a polite letter to go shove their invoice up their ear. I'm interested to see what will happen going forward.

I failed to mention in the previous post that 80 started out the weekend with running boards. I was following the daughter up a trail pretty steep incline & called to her on the cb "Hey honey I found somebody's running board on the side of the trail." Her response "well it's not mine because I lost mine on the rocks At the sharp turn back there." Which is exactly where I was at!

You just wish you painted Marjan Aqua so it would pop next to your skin and bring the color out in your eyes.

If you are joining Jayston from the Overland Guild on the end of April there will be 2 local TAC members running HWM with him. @SammyT08FJ and @StucknKS. We will have another group from Tornado Alley Cruisers running HWM the first weekend of June which is the one I will attend.

Especially in snow. And the price is amazing for what you get.
