I've had some serious spring fever and I required some time away from work etc. Hopped in the truck with my 13 yr old and met my brother in law in his LX470 and we headed to Moab on Saturday. Had a great day on Elephant Hill in Canyonlands, and my son got lots of time behind the wheel.

Seriously one of the cleanest looking 80s on the board. You did a great job keeping a balance and scale with the design of your rig.

Somehow mine seems to jump back and forth every few years between expo and trail.

Nicely done!

Thanks man! really appreciate that compliment. I fight that mental battle all the time too and debate whether or not to go all in with suspension and big tires. But it just wouldn't work as well for the "expo" stuff so I've figured that I've pushed it as far as I can to still work well for distance travel and still built "enough" to handle some tougher trail work. Unfortunately, not ideal setup for either situation but still works well.

Am experiencing a shudder upon accel, especially when cold. Prior to this, I noticed a marked increase in speed when it shifted from 3d to 4th. (o/a 55-58 mph on a flat surface).

I've ordered new plugs and wires, but will be attempting to adjust the kickdown cable, the swaged bit is nowhere to be seen; assuming it is out of adjustment.

I've stolen this pic from the above, and assume the kickdown cable is the bottom one. i.e. "A", "B", "G" and "H".

My 80 made a new friend! There is a new 60 in town. Guy purchased it from a guy in Helena, MT.

Had a week off to go visit the cruiser and install some parts that have been sitting around.

Also installed LED parking and plate lights.
Additionally, got around to installing new seat gears and CDL switch.

Of course it's a new 60. You know how I know that? if it were an old 60, it would be an outline in rust on the ground.

Which it will be, if he drives it for a winter season, in Iowa.

It's already got some rust.

I don't know why you insist that a vehicle is guaranteed to rust in Iowa. My 92 isn't rusted. It has spent 17 winters in Iowa.

Got some new(used) seat belts for the 93 since @NLXTACY said the ones in it were trashed.

Enjoying the chilly wintertime temps in the low 70's, but really looking forward to it getting back to temps in the 80's!
A few shots of this beachside beauty.
