Since I washed her this morning my son and I went fishing. Got in to some thick mud. So had to wash her again. Didn't catch any fish but had a lot of fun getting there.

Got this today courtesy of Amazon. I am paranoid. I have owned my 3FE for 24 years and have a hard time remembering if the temp gauge is the top or bottom left on the gauge cluster. I don't even have my 1FZ-FE yet and I'm freaking out about temps!

Popped off the oil pan... truck has been sitting a while, so everything looks pretty dry, but its ok.

For years I drove around in P38 Range Rovers and those things are out of control when it comes to overheating. It's made me paranoid as well. I don't freak out about temps in my LC but I did fit a big set of spotlights recently which significantly restricts the amount of visable grill. I bought one of those same Koso temp sensors and fitted it just for peace of mind. I fitted mine just forward of the cup holder next to the shifter. I can see it if I look but it isn't burning my eyes out at night. So far mine sits at 186f. The highest it has ever been was on a fairly steep climb when it peaked at 194f. When I'm out wheeling it rarely goes above 186f which is good to know. I also noticed things which I have yet to explain such as it sits at 190f on the freeway doing 70mph but will drop to 186f if I go below 50mph.
Either way mine has become a little friend rather than a constant reminder of the fragility of mating aluminum and cast...

This is where I used to say something about "what is this overheating you speak of, I drive a 3FE, I don't know what this is?" But now that I bought a 1FZ-FE that I plan on keeping I have nightmares about temperatures and overheating.
So I will not laugh at you. I believe in Karma. And I don't want to get bit in the ass. Hope the overheating wasn't too bad.

I already pissed in his gas tank...it HAS begun
After a looooooong couple days the 95 got some much needed attention at the 208k mark so here we go...... oil change, rear brake pads and rotors one new caliper, front brake pads (did the 100 pad swap), replaced both front rotors which = front axel service ughhhhhhh, replaced all old brake fluid, replaced all belts, new cap, rotor, plugs and harness, new air inlet hose, new air filter, drained coolant, replaced thermostat, replaced all the hoses including the PHH, drain and fill diffs, drain and fill transmission, sanded, primed and repainted front bumper and end caps in fresh moonglow, replaced windshield lastly tire rotation and balance. Thanks to my buddy Scott for the help and knowledge and a HUGE thanks AGAIN to Cruiser Dan and Don in the parts department at American Toyota. These guys had every part I needed in stock, fantastic service fellas. Living in Albuquerque 2 miles from Dan's desk doesn't suck lemme tell ya. Needless to say shes running like new and quiet as a mouse.
