Pretty simple you can knock it out in an afternoon. However I deleted all that rear heat crap that supposed to be in the way years ago. You'll need :
10&12 mm socket
What ever tools for hose clamps
10 in extension to make life easy
U joint or 10 mm wobble for the
Ds rear cover bolt
I did use a 12 mm wrench to break the tb top bolts loose better angle for me. Note: put the bottom TB bolts through before putting it back on. I used a flashlight to see to put the 12mm/10 ext on em. Remove the air filter can then you can sit there while you work.
Cleaning supplies. Paint if desired. That'll add a day plus any other while I'm here crap. Oh and a seal puller for the tube seals. If you've done the axles you should own one.

And if your seals are brittle, you will need a nice pick and tiny pry bar.

Sure mine was 20 years old. It came out in a few pieces. Explains why it leaked.

How was it? I gotta do mine too

Is the PCV on the valve cover like it is on the 3FE? If so replace it and the grommet for it. Don't try to reuse the grommet. It's dry and brittle. And replace the hose coming from it.

That grommet being so brittle and likely to fall into the head and be hard to deal with... as well as being so cheap.. has nominated it for something I just replace once a year automatically. SOOOO much less work to deal with it when the damn thing just pulls out in one piece like it should.. flexible rubber.

Yeah yeah, phrasing.

Found some nose candy pulling it apart.

Did you taste it? Maybe just baking soda...

Put the axle back on along with some extra suspension travel with remote resi adjustable fox shocks, all new moving parts (bearings, seals, birfs and suspension bushings), arb air locker, slee extended brake lines and 1" lift via coil spacer.

That's awesome.
Stock coils with spacer & a great set of shocks with long travel, it's just what you wanted.:bounce::bounce:
What is the compressed & extended measurements on the shocks?
Did you compress shocks with no coils?
Do you need a bump spacer to protect the shock?

Baking soda is a natural odor eliminator. Prob had a box of it in the glove box or something of the sort.

The only thing is, it would be impossible to get it there like that unless the console was removed.

When I was in the car business I bought a Ferrari 599GTB that had a quart ziploc freezer bag filled with some fine Peruvian fish scale. Interesting find to say the least.

Most valve/head covers have a baffle system so if the grommet does break apart, it will likely not fall through to the valve's and the pieces can be picked out with needle nose pliers.

I did not add bump spacer. With fully compressed suspension (no coils) and truck weight on the bumpstops, still had a little more than 1" of shock travel available. Gained at least 2" of overal travel and about 1" of ride height. The custom downsouth foxes are great, no adapters fitting stem to stem. I did not get measurements of the shocks.

Thanks.
Sounds like Downsouth has it all dialed in.

Couldnt get the parts of mine with needlenose pliers, though a shop vac managed.

My point is why bother with all of that when you can spend $5 every year or two and avoid it ever getting hard in the first place.

I do not disagree with you.

This is the cabin filter on my '07 Camry Hybrid. Just swapped it out. It's 3 years old. This is disgusting!

I need to research again to see if anyone has figured out a good cabin filter solution for the 80.

What springs and shocks are you running?

The Cowboy Special-OME 2.5" heavies--I don't know what shocks they came with but it was all together.
