Wow that actually looks pretty good. If I ever go 37s......no 35s are perfect and I don't need 37s. Someone buy those exact wheels from me and save me from myself!!!!

:)Fixed my cruise control.

Sticker'd the rear crossmember (still up in the air about cutting it)

Put this silly quarter holder in for my trips into the city. I believe this is 1% more useful than a switch blank (though I probably won't be flashing that kind of change around all the time... I'm sure plenty of folks would break a window for that much silver)

Some FJ80 grab handles for the pillars (I like that blocky look vs. the later model handles, and I'll be damned if I didn't lose or dispose of the ones I had when I cut this thing in half) and the bluetooth microphone from the new stereo.

Dude, you need paracord grab handles for that beast!

Last weekend on my 97LC I did the front main seal, oil pump gasket, and dizzy shaft o ring. no hitches. 6 hrs start to finish (temps as low as 23 inside garage, yuck). This weekend my 18 yr old son learned that the 80 does have some limitations. He was driving the LC on the mud flats on the shores of Utah lake, showing off to his friend and sunk it up to the running boards. His excuse was "there were other tracks out there so it was ok to be out there". He didnt take in to account the tracks were from ATV's from when the ground was frozen. This week's thaw changed things. My sons buddy his dad who has a TACO with a winch. He walked out across the mud flats, looked at it, and wisely handed his son a shovel and bravely retreated to the safety of his home. After two hrs of thrashing and digging, my son submitted to his worst worst nightmare and called "dad" for a rescue. First picture is where I stopped at the edge of the last solid ground to walk out and evaluate the course of action. If you squint real hard you can see his tail firmly between his legs. While I was doing a walk around, a good samaritan in his 80's F250 diesel 4x4 with lockers drove out pull him out. Half way between where I parked my LX450 and my sons LC, the Ford sunk to it's axles. (ford came after these pcs. ) last Picture shows closeup of

the LC. sorry there aren't more pictures but it got dark, and my hands were covered in mud ( yes, Ih8mud ) and I didn't want to ruin my phone. HAPPY ending: Dropped tire pressure down to 12PSI on all 3 vehicles Son and friend assigned more digging. I drove past the stuck ford and positioned myself about 30 degrees off from center line front, and about 180 ft. away from the LC (slightly firmer ground). Using my 12K HF winch, (with recoil blanket over cable) Plus.... 30 ft recovery strap, and 75 ft Static ( very low stretch ) retired climbing rope. Had my son go low range, push 2nd start button and had him just creep the tires a little to match the winching speed while the other three vigorously rocked the LC side to side. It really strained the system but worked . The LX has the die hard, huge deep draw battery and didnt run out with so much winching. It paid for itself .
When I got him out of the hole, I disconnected and tried to drive it myself but it wouldnt go so i repossitioned the LX and pulled him another 60 ft and then I drove it out from there. It barely got moving with aired down tires and 2nd start. Then I repossitioned to pull out the F250. I tried the kinetic strap and couldn't get him moving so I turned around and winched him out of his hole and just power drug him to firm ground once he was moving. This kid was really scratching his head over how and LX could drive right past his stuck truck then come back and pull him out. Nice guy for stopping to help us!

Finished up the leather on the front seats. Fxxx this mod! Need to pay someone to do the rears because it's a pain.

I suspected as much, so I made Michael do the second row first, before the front seats :flipoff2: - also, I figured if something went wrong, I'd at least not have to be irked by it every time I get into the truck :flamingo:

Dang! Beans, rice and Nutella. What else does anyone really need?

trusted sources in my lab maintain that what's now sold in the US as Nutella is different from the "real" product - my own stash predates the divergence :flamingo:

Oh and.. for anyone wondering whether they should do this swap (keep 94 engine/transmission and drop a 95+ body on it)

Dont. Just... DON'T. I had absolutely no concept of the amount of work it would actually be. Figured "OBDI to OBDII and that's it?" In the immortal words of Lana Cane.. NOPE.

This weekend I found out that the OME 850/860 coils are a great setup for out of the box flex for the 80 with 33" tires. They tuck the 33" nicely in the (rear) fender without any rub. The truck also stayed more level and had more front flex than the Rover I was with and he doesn't run any swaybars. Here are a couple pictures from the weekend:

Took the family up to the woods to cut down our Christmas tree. Quite a bit of snow from a recent storm. The forest roads were super slick packed snow/ice. I actually had to pull some guy in a Ford plow truck out of a ditch. No pics of that as I stayed in while my son did the recovery setup.
