I finally got the 3FE on my 91 broke in.

Installed new plug wires, cap and rotor, throttle cable, and PCV/grommet/breather hoses. (thanks cruiserdan)
Plug wires were still original - '94 w 192k. chalk one up for oem
While replacing pcv grommet, found old bottom half of grommet PO had replaced somewhere along the line, and had left it in there. It was still in one piece, so I fished it out.

Put down a coat of bed liner and put some rubberized undercoat on top of that.

Reinstalled the second row seats and dug up my old Eagle Creek duffle to consolidate all the crap that rolls around back there. I think I've finalized the location of my fuel can.

The neighborhood dog kept a close eye out for "those meddling kids!"

I like it! Very utilitarian! I have thought about going this route when my carpets finally wear out. I dig it.

To be sure it's a "little" louder, but not any more than any other tactical vehicle I've been in.

The stiffening pattern in the floor is actually quite clean and attractive. Plus my carpets were rotted badly. :(

I always laugh when people put dynamat and other sound deadeners in 80s. Just not what I want out of my 80. I like that it isn't quiet. I like that it just does what it is supposed to do without any flare. Along with that comes a little noise.

The plan at the moment is to hit Guadalupe Canyon for a few days, do some rock climbing and exploring the area, then find an off-road way over the Sierra de Juarez toward the coast. There are some Missions back in there I'd like to check out. Hit some surf spots, beaches. We want to spend a few nights in Guadalupe Valley, sort of an up and comeing foodie/wine region near Ensenada. And more hiking. And hot springs.

I hope there's not too many so cal people there, though.

:flipoff2:
Well, that sounds like and epic adventure.

No the switch controls the path of the voltage.

There are 6 wires connected to the switch. Only one of them is positive. This leads me to believe the switch cuts the voltage in half on the low setting.
At this point (not knowing how the wire loom is made up) I don't see what else can control the voltage prior to entering the switch.

Has anyone put on Rocky road outfitters sliders on their 80? The front holes on the passenger side don't line up. Not a big deal. But the rear support on the driver side seems almost impossible to get to because of the fuel tank. And the brackets for the control arms are in the way of the supports also. Someone let me know if this is normal please?

Installed non sagging visors. New (used) door cups that aren't cracked. And replaced the driver door seal. All cosmetics. I didn't realize how easy it is to see out my windshield without sagging visors.

Also went to the junkyard and picked apart the 92 that was there. Picked up the parts I had gotten last time that were supposed to be pulled off but weren't. Also picked up the AFM, igniter, ECU, side mirrors switch (this looks brand spanking new), a bunch of bolts off the truck, third row seat bolts because they were loose and I could take them, and also snagged a bunch of switches (8) out of 4Runners and tacos just because. All for $20.

I feel like a hoarder.
