That second from the top with some bronze wheels or some silver with polished lip wheels would be pretty damn cool
made me think of this one I saw a few months back on BAT.... I like the deep green @Meshal 's client went with.

Cray we’re talking about green trucks. I’ve been having dreams of a green truck for weeks now. I saw a 62 yesterday in BigSky that was the exact same color as the one posted above. Dark green cruisers have really grown on me and I think it’s now my favorite color.

Installed a new thermostat and both gaskets.

yeah i’ve been tried all sorts of things. the brass bearings were supposed to be lubricated with just machine oil but it just wouldn’t last. i put in grease zerks and would try greasing them with no real success. so every year i’d take them off and sand out the corrosion and grease them up. they’d work for a month or two before starting to get stiff. this past winter they froze right up on me to the point i had to cut them off. i don’t even live in an area where a lot of salt it used but none the less i’m tired of them not working so i’ll try something different. 🤞
I use fluid film on mine. I lubed them very well when I installed the bumpers a year ago and have had zero problems and haven’t had to lube them again yet but maybe I should.

i’m guessing my Canadian winters have something to do with it. probably more moisture and road chemicals than you’ve got to deal with in Texas i guessing.

New rear axle bearings and seals! Glad I checked them… axle seal failed on my FF 80 rear axle. All good now that the bearings are not bathed in gear oil!

Actually a lot of guys delete that inner seal and just run oil on the bearings. All the domestic 1-ton full floats are deigned that way.

That's what I'm doing on two 80 series full floaters.

Did not know that was an option! Well they are now back to the way mr T designed it.

Wheeled and biked at Moab after driving there from Tennessee no issues. On i70 I lost my brakes because of the soft line going from the frame to the front axle gave out.

Drove 180 miles from i70 to park city with literally zero brakes besides my hand brake, where @Dubs2017 was there to lend me his front brake line to get me back on the road. Can’t thank you enough man!

Saginaw pump is on. My original power steering pump pulley ate the shaft key just enough to start slightly wobbling. That rounded out the bore and caused worse wobbling - about 3/4”. That was causing movement in the shaft that wallowed out the front bushing and seal. It was leaking heavily and making an absolute racket.

Grateful for old threads on the subject, some PMs with @orangefj45 for parts consultation, and @Tancruiser for some gifts and guidance. And my local buddy Travis for tips on the bracket chopping procedure.

Bled the system very briefly and the pump groans a little at full lock, but otherwise does great.

After some trial and error I found this belt worked perfectly. The 1/2” width works for the Sag pulley, and the crank & alternator pulleys spin just fine with it. Length works great.

*note: the above procedure works fine with the smog pump in place.

Tossed on 35/10.5 Kenda Klever R/T's and pulled the rusty tank. Waiting on a new sending unit, suction tube and vent lines to finish swapping in the new tank.

I am VERY curious about those tires in that specific size. What are your initial impressions? Can you come back after a while and update us?

Other questions: what’s your suspension program and motor/gearing situation?

I think I saw your order over the weekend, thanks :)

Took our latest swap project for a test drive to the car wash across the street… first drive for this FJ62 in 12 years! 6.0/4l60. Will post up some engine bay pics when finished. And maybe a build thread when it gets the coil swap next year.

And on my own 62… In preparation for a big upcoming trip in a few weeks I yanked my 5.3 to finally fix my long overdue broken motor mounts (from my wreck in early 2021). Cut all that out and welding in my Gen 2 Cruisermatt Mount kit. :)

Also swapping to newer gen NV4500 bellhousing, hydraulic release bearing, and fixing a few leaks.

Might get the AC going too.
