You were right when you said it was the single biggest improvement I could make. Went into garage just to look at it again this morning.
Had thought about adding sound deadener, but stock floor is super nice and I don't really use it for long trips, so the noise is tolerable.

Put it in your doors. That and butyl-based deadener on the firewall will make the biggest improvement in sound.

Big job to pull the entire dash down to the sheetmetal though, you can do one door at a time :D

The details.......Painted wheels, installed Christmas 3d cup holder (PO did a sloppy job on new carpet), installed dash cap (FINALLY).......
Rustoleum Stone Gray.

Tons of weekends doing things in the 62! Without a doubt the best year yet with our Cruiser.

Great video! What is location (where at) 2:44-2:46 on the video?

Always dig when yalls videos pop up on my recently posted list on youtube
Thanks man! Blown away by your motor swap. Sooo clean. 🤘

Thank you! The least exciting location in the whole video: an on-ramp in North Salt Lake in my parents VW Bus. Lol

Actually took the time to go through the folder of receipts I got when I picked up my 60 in August. Almost $30k worth of receipts from the early 2000s to now with a goldmine of information. Was shocked to see the PO spent almost $9k to rebuild the motor, that's crate LS3 money right there. I think I'll keep the motor whenever I do the swap and make a display piece out of it, it's earned that much.

As far as work right now, does anyone know how to remove sound deadening on vertical surfaces? Tried dry ice and it didn't work like it did on the trunk floor. Thinking about having someone dry-ice blast it instead. I managed to get one side cleaned off with a razor but the remaining side is incredibly stubborn for some reason.

My 60 came with a similar folder of receipts when i bought it. 30k or so of work done to the truck pretty recently. Spent over 9K to go through the motor. excluding many other things. Even after all of that, i pulled the 2f and did the swap

That's where I'm at. The original motor still running is really cool, but I want something with more oomph.

Whaaaaa?! This is all sorts of cool! :D What are your plans for the fuel system/computer? Keep it stock?

I would do a boost referenced regulator for the fuel, and give it more fuel pressure for each pound of boost.

This is one place where the 3FE being "dumb" and not being speed density or knowing what engine vacuum is doing would be great.

I think a 3FE under 10 lbs of boost would be very happy.
