Is there any more info on this 80 axle swap? I was searching but couldn't seem to find much specific to a 60

A little body and paint.

Thanks. I presume I get one with ABS and just not hook up the ABS? From car-part.com it seems that locker axles only came with ABS.

Also, I was going to buy a new OME suspension / lift from Cruiser Outfitters. This axle wouldn't change anything with that, would it? Just wanting to know before I order the lift since I'll get it before the axle.

ABS will be a non-issue. Each hub has an ABS sensor that can be left in or removed. I'm going to use the ABS sensors to plug the hole. I think I'll cut/grind off the excess on the sensors.

Once you properly convert the 80 series axle for leaf spring perches you'll be good to use under the 60.

Non-locked FF axles are more common and cheaper and you can go with one of those and use an aftermarket locker.

A quick call to Cruiser Outfitters and they'll walk you through some questions to make sure you order what you need.

There's about a $300 difference from what I can see. But the locked axles are closer to me, just across the border in Washington...

There's a guy who converted a 3rd gen 4runner rear e-locker to manual cable which sounds like something I'd be interested in doing if it's possible for an 80 locker.

Any of you 60 owners have an air injection pump (preferably operational) gathering dust that you would part with? Yes, I have an emissions test coming up in my near future.

Yep, from my 1988. Would that work?

Those 80 guys who run ABS will buy the sensors and harness off you. I sold mine to fund the swap.

Less elegant solution:

Wits End has a machined set of your looking for a swanky solution.

If the actuator on the locker is toast this may be a less expensive option.

Bolts were getting loose on the Tuffy console. Used it as an excuse to take it out and finally sand and paint to match the brown interior. Used SEM cordovan brown - not an exact match but close. Also ordered new cup holder “fingers” from Tuffy as mine were torn. They were very easy to work with. Sent me 2 for about $4 after shipping.
